Objectives The aim of the present study was to determine the effects of performing a dual task on the sway density plot parameters in Parkinson's disease and control subjects. Quartz Crystal Microbalance And Electrical Impedance Characterization Of Nickel Dissolution Process.

Abstract. The anodic nickel dissolution in acid media is analysed by means of EQCM and EIS techniques. The experimental impedance spectra have been fitted to the equivalent circuit which corresponds to two consecutive electron transfers followed by a Ni(II) desorption. That way rate constants and surface concentrations of the Ni(0) and Ni(I) species are obtained. EQCM also provides information about the mechanism of deposition and passivation of nickel as well as the hydrogen evolution.

Zum Problem der Stickstoffbilanz beim Keimwachstum in Stabilisatoren

Es wurde das Keimwachstum in Verbindung mit Stickstoffbilanzen in experimentell infizierten Blutkonserve-Stabilisatoren untersucht. Hierbei zeigte sich, das bei einzelnen Stammen gramnegativer Stabchen eine deutliche Keimvermehrung in diesen Medien stattfindet, obwohl sie in ihrer chemischen Zusammensetzung keine Stickstoffquelle enthalten. Da es im Verlauf der Keimvermehrung zu einer progressiven N-Zunahme kam (Initialwert der beimpften Stabilisatormenge 4–6 γ, Endwert zwischen 10 und 20 γ/ml), vermuten wir, das eine Fixierung atmospharischen Stickstoffs durch die genannten Keime stattgefunden hat. Kontrollteste mit anderen gramnegativen sowie mit grampositiven Bakterien verliefen negativ.

Glutamine transport by the blood-brain barrier: a possible mechanism for nitrogen removal

Glutamine and glutamate transport activities were measured in isolated luminal and abluminal plasma membrane vesicles derived from bovine brain endothelial cells. Facilitative systems for glutamine and glutamate were almost exclusively located in luminal-enriched membranes. The facilitative glutamine carrier was neither sensitive to 2-aminobicyclo(2,2,1)heptane-2-carboxylic acid inhibition nor did it participate in accelerated amino acid exchange; it therefore appeared to be distinct from the neutral amino acid transport system L1. Utilization of cysteine derivatives for parenteral nutrition was established by means of nitrogen balance of growing rats. N,N-bis-acetylcystine and bisacetyl-glycyl-cystine were not utilized as substrates. N-acetylcysteine, glutathione disulfide, and L-thiazolidine-(4)-carboxylic acid gave evidence as suitable cysteine sources for parenteral nutrition.

This paper deals with the estimation of spectral properties of randomly excited multi-degree-of-freedom (MDOF) nonlinear vibrating systems. Each component of the vector of the stationary system response is expanded into a trigonometric Fourier series over an adequately long interval T. Abstract The numerical solution of nonlinear convection-diffusion equations with nonlocal flux by explicit finite difference methods is costly due to the local spatial convolution within the convective numerical flux and the disadvantageous Courant-Friedrichs-Lewy (CFL) condition caused by the diffusion term. In the current (post-) pandemic context and through the lens of a southern European perspective the purpose of this article is to critically reflect about the role of culture as possible vehicle of urban and community regeneration. In particular we will focus on the activities of the no profit organization «Laboratorio Zen Insieme» in ZEN2 one of the last large popular and peripheral neighborhoods built in Palermo at the end of 80s in order to explore and understand how cultural practices work as agent of urban and social transformation capable of addressing emerging issues especially in the pandemic scenario we are experiencing. Thecasestudy has been conducted through analysis of documents participative observations (Honer and Hitzler 2015) and qualitative in-depth interviews with key actors involved in the conception organization and management of the activities carried out by Laboratorio Zen Insieme with representatives of local institutions and non-formal conversations with participants of the workshops heldin the neighborhood. The experience we narrate finds that cultural practices have re-conceptualized their design and functions as strategies of urban and community regeneration and at the same time have contributed to answer to emergent issues in developing proximity and local based strategies facing up to problems inherent civil rights educationalpoverty socio-spatial justice and have changed the image and identity of urban places they inhabit.In this sense the research provides a framework for development of strategies and legitimization for cultural practices and a point of discussionabouttheirrolein urban development.Although all cities in the world have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic its impacts on the territories yet to be understood are unevenly distributed revealing extremely varied imbalances depending on the places.
