Hypervisor-Based White Listing of Executables

We describe an efficient system for ensuring code integrity of an operating system (OS), both its own code and application code. The proposed system can protect from an attacker who has full control over the OS kernel. An evaluation of the system's performance suggests the induced overhead is negligible. peerReviewed

This article compares catalytic performance of ethylene polymerization in similar polymerization conditions of transition metal complexes having two ligands [O,N] (phenoxy-imine) and having one tetradentate ligand [O,N,N,O] (salphen or salen). It is shown that the activity of both complex types as well as the product properties depend in the same way on the type of central metal in the complex and on the cocatalyst used. Although the type of ligand has some effect on the catalyst activity, yet it does not control the properties of the obtained products. The Missing Member of the Partially O-Alkylated Resorcinarene Family: Synthesis and Conformation of Methyl Tetramethoxy Resorcinarene

An improved Lewis acid catalyzed synthesis method for methyl tetramethoxy resorcinarene is described, which produced the missing lower rim methyl derivative of this partially O-alkylated resorcinarene family. Structural characterization by means of variable temperature NMR experiments and single crystal X-ray diffraction studies furthermore revealed that the resorcinarene core adopts different conformations in the solid state and in solution. peerReviewed

Analysis of a database to predict the result of allergy testing in vivo in patients with chronic nasal symptoms.

Background This article uses the logistic regression model for diagnostic decision making in patients with chronic nasal symptoms. We studied the ability of the logistic regression model, obtained by the evaluation of a database, to detect patients with positive allergy skin-prick test (SPT) and patients with negative SPT. The model developed was validated using the data set obtained from another medical institution. Reverse Catmull-Clark Subdivision

Reverse subdivision consists in constructing a coarse mesh of a model from a finer mesh of this same model. In this paper, we give formulas for reverse Catmull-Clark subdivision. These formulas allow the constructing of a coarse mesh for almost all meshes. The condition for being able to apply these formulas is that the mesh to be reversed must be generated by the subdivision of a coarse mesh. Except for this condition, the mesh can be arbitrary. Vertices can be regular or extraordinary and the mesh itself can be arbitrary (triangular, quadrilateral…).
