The Internet provides an easily accessible way to meet certain needs. Over-reliance on it leads to problematic use, which studies show can be predicted by psychological distress. Fulfillment of students’ basic psychological needs in school physical education is essential for their optimal motivation and well-being. The present study aimed to: (1) translate the Basic Psychological Needs in Physical Education Scale (BPNPE Scale; Vlachopoulos, Katarzi, & Kontou, 2011) to Filipino, and (2) examine the reliability and validity of the Filipino version. Instrument translation was conducted using a committee-approach back-translation procedure. The Basic Psychological Needs in Physical Education Scale (BPNPE Scale: Vlachopoulos, Katarzi, & Kontou, 2011) is a short instrument grounded in Self-Determination Theory (Ryan & Deci, 2000; 2002), designed to measure fulfillment of students’ basic needs for competence, autonomy, and relatedness in physical education context. Este estudio analizo las propiedades psicometricas de la Escala de Percepcion de Promocion del Bienestar para Entrenadores (EPPBE), compuesta por 6 dimensiones: Autocontrol, castigo, apoyo social, apoyo a la autonomia, apoyo a la competencia y apoyo a la afiliacion. Se administro la escala a 506 entrenadores y se realizo un analisis factorial confirmatorio. La validez nomologica se analizo a traves de las relaciones de las variables con la satisfaccion de necesidades basicas y la motivacion autodeterminada.
