Visbiežāk savainotā ķermeņa daļa basketbolistiem ir potītes locītava. Potītes locītavas kustību amplitūdas mākslīga ierobežošana ar teipošanas metodi ir populārs veids, kā izvairīties no potīšu traumām. Līdz šim galvenokārt pētītas atspēriena un stājas stabilitātes īpašības pirmsslodzes fāzē, tāpēc trūkst informācijas par teipošanas metodes fizioloģisko ietekmi uz sportistu stājas stabilitāti pēc slodzes. Maģistra darbā tika pētītas stājas stabilitātes, atspēriena īpašības un kāju funkcionālās asimetrijas izpausmes pirms un pēcslodzes periodā. Abstract This study analyzes the degree to which different amounts of training during a 4-month period affects salivary testosterone (Tsal), salivary cortisol (Csal) responses, and changes in the salivary testosterone/cortisol ratio (Tsal/Csal ratio) following acute physical effort. Two professional basketball teams with similar fitness levels carried out a maximal cycle ergometry at the beginning and in the middle of the sports season. Testosterone and attribution of successful competition

Mood, personal merit, and/or its perception have been suggested to be mediating factors in testosterone responses to competition. Previously we have found that personal contribution and attribution were related to testosterone levels after successful competition. To confirm such associations, two basketball teams (n = 17 players) that emerged as winners in two actual matches were studied. Salivary testosterone levels and mood were measured before and after the games. Individual contribution to the outcome was assessed, and personal satisfaction and causal attribution of outcome were reported by players. A Psychometric Evaluation of the Group Environment Questionnaire in a Sample of Professional Basketball and Soccer Players

Psychometric properties of the Group environment Questionnaire were investigated in a large sample of soccer (n = 222) and professional basketball players (n = 375). Confirmatory factor analysis was performed both on the total sample and on the two sub samples through a multi-group approach; associations between cohesion and the duration of belonging to the team were also explored. Results confirmed the four-factor structure proposed by Carron's original model even though some items with low loadings were eliminated. No signifcant associations were found between team cohesion and the duration of belonging to the team. © Perceptual & Motor Skills 2013.

Pētījumā “Latvijas profesionālo sieviešu basketbolistu folklora” aplūkota profesionālās grupas – latviešu izcelsmes sieviešu basketbolistu kopējā folklora, kura tiek izmantota gan grupas iekšējai saziņai, gan saskarsmē ar citu kultūridentitāšu nesējiem. Mērķis ir raksturot šo grupu tās sociālās bāzes un grupas pārstāvju individuālajā kontekstā. Iepazīstoties ar teorētisko literatūru, grupas darba vidi un sociālo bāzi, tika identificēti un raksturoti grupā pastāvošie folkloras žanri. A method for quantifying atrial fibrillation organization based on wave-morphology similarity

A new method for quantifying the organization of single bipolar electrograms recorded in the human atria during atrial fibrillation (AF) is presented. The algorithm relies on the comparison between pairs of local activation waves (LAWs) to estimate their morphological similarity, and returns a regularity index (/spl rho/) which measures the extent of repetitiveness over time of the detected activations. The database consisted of endocardial data from a multipolar basket catheter during AF and intraatrial recordings during atrial flutter. Basketbola izlases kapteinis aizveda Latviju līdz pirmajam Eiropas Basketbola čempiona titulam, uzvarot Spāniju finālā. Abi autori analizē divus aspektus - Annija sporta, Rūdolfs korporatīvo aspektu.
