2020

Investigation of archaeological amphorae from the Egadi battles
2022
Abstract Archaeological ceramics are considered one of the most important sources of both technological and chronological information. Here, the investigation of some archaeological underwater amphorae from the Egadi’s Battle, that decided the end of the First Punic War (241 B.C.), is reported. X-ray Diffraction (XRD), X-ray Fluorescence (XRF), petrography, and Thermoluminescence (TL) were used to determine the composition of the amphorae and to evaluate the compatibly of their age with the above Battle. Considering the historical importance of the act and the well-defined historical collocation these amphorae represent an interesting archaeometric case study.
Rosyjski korpus posiłkowy (auksyliarny) na służbie Augusta II w Rzeczypospolitej i Saksonii. Nowe spojrzenie na sasko-polsko-rosyjską współpracę poli…
2019
W zaprezentowanym artykule recenzyjnym prob…
The Song of the Crusade against the Albigensians (1st quarter of the 13th century) and the Treaty of Meaux-Paris (1228). Literary mimesis and legal c…
2020

Nikolai Marr and the idea of a unified language
2006
Abstract Nikolai Marr’s idea of the class-character of language assumes that language mechanically reflects the characteristics of the socio-economic basis. Marr argued that typological similarities between different languages are not based on ‘blood relationship’ but derive from the fact that all languages have developed through the same stages corresponding to the stages in the development of the socio-economic basis. For Marr, national oppression resulted from ‘racial’ or ‘ethnic’ definitions of such concepts as language and nation. His aim was to battle against oppression by replacing ‘racial’ definitions proposed by Indo-European linguistics with his non-ethnic and ‘sociological’ under…

Three categories of ownership are recognized and the efforts to influence environmental leadership and management are analysed based on the relevant important documents from the last 15 years. The article starts by categorising ownership. Next, the question of who owns the right to lead/manage, and therefore the right to control the use of global resources, leads to a discussion of the influences of environmental problems on the theory of leadership and management. Finally, a short analysis of the battle of ownership is documented.
Traditional Chinese herbal medicine at the forefront battle against COVID-19: Clinical experience and scientific basis.
2020
Abstract Background Throughout the 5000-year history of China, more than 300 epidemics were recorded. Traditional Chinese herbal medicine (TCM) has been used effectively to combat each of these epidemics’ infections, and saved many lives.
2017
Miguel del Prado, a painter who formed a company with Miguel Esteve in order to paint the now-lost Valencia town hall chapel in 1519, is an artist for whom there is scant documentary evidence. He has been identified with the anonymous Master of the Grifo, but this has been questioned recently. The author here offers news of a contract given to del Prado for an altarpiece in the Rosary Chapel of the old convent of Santo Domingo in Valencia that he was unable to fulfill due to his untimely death. It has been possible to certify that he perished on the battlefield of Almenara during the Germanias Revolt of 1521. Therefore the chronology for this painter has now been reduced by more than 16 yea…
