Pectin is an acidic polysaccharide constituted by monomer units of galacturonic acid. It is a main component of peel fruits where is present as protopectin. Due to the presence of a high number of carboxylic binding sites in its structure, pectin (Pect) shows a good sequestering capacity towards metal ions. Pectin has been proposed as a sorbent to remove metal ions from aqueous solutions. In this work the ability of pectin on solid phase to remove Cd(II) and Cu(II) from aqueous solutions has been evaluated. [EN] In this paper we present the results related to the excavation works conducted in Late Neolithic and Bell Beaker sites of Quintaret (Montesa, Valencia) and Corcot (l’Alcúdia de Crespins, Valencia), both in the middle valley of Canyoles river. The sites, neighboring each other, offer a quite different volume of information (Quintaret: 51 structures; Corcot: 4 structures). 14C dates allow us to define the occupation of this area of the valley along the first half of the III millennium cal BC. Cryopreservation of white mulberry (Morus alba L.) by encapsulation-dehydration and vitrification

Shoot apices of in vitro-grown plantlets of white mulberry, Morus alba L. cv Florio, were cryopreserved using either encapsulation-dehydration or vitrification. For encapsulation-dehydration, alginate beads containing apices were dehydrated for 1, 3, 5 or 7 days in a liquid medium containing various sucrose concentrations (0.5, 0.75, 1.0 or 1.25 M). Bead desiccation was performed using silica gel for either 0, 4, 6, 8, 9 or 14 h. For vitrification, apices were directly immersed for either 5, 15, 30 or 60 min in a vitrification solution (PVS2). International audience; For actuating the magnetic microrobots, two types of magnetic actuation technologies have been used during the last past years. These magnetic technologies may be either electromagnetic coils or permanent magnets based systems. This second solution is not the most used by researchers, because of the difficulties to control the magnetic force. In this paper we propose a magnetic actuator prototype based on permanent magnets. The warping torsion as a sequence of infinite bending problems

[EN] In the present article, a methodology for teaching modeling problem of mixed torsion for thin-walled open sections. The mathematical analogy of warped twist as a problem of Euler-Bernoulli beams is exploited. In fact, the paper proposes to represent the warped torsion differential equation as a perturbation of the pure torsion or also called the Saint-Venant theory. Thus, it is demonstrated that under certain conditions related to the value of the torsional slenderness the response of a beam is the addition of infinite pure warped problems, that is, infinite bending problems, according to the analogy. We call this the asymptotic torsion analogy.

Adoptive immunotherapy with tumour-reactive CD8(+) cytotoxic T lymphocytes (CTLs) requires efficient in vitro approaches allowing the expansion of CTLs to large numbers prior infusion. Here, we investigated the antigen-independent activation and the expansion of human T cells in peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) and in tumour-reactive CTLs using Dynabeads coated with monoclonal antibodies to CD3 and to the costimulatory molecules CD28 and CD137 (4-1BB).
