Web Usage Mining and Website Effectiveness

Nel seguente articolo sono state utilizzate tecniche di Usage Mining al fine di valutare l’efficacia del website di un’azienda di ricettività turistica distinguendo tra comportamento di navigazione di utenti PC e utenti mobile. I risultati ottenuti hanno evidenziato problematiche relative alla progettazione del sito in questione. Using usage mining techniques, the study explores the effectiveness of a tourism business website focussing on the differences between desk and mobile user browsing behaviour. Results indicate important direction for a rethink of the website design.

Many behavioural and emotional characteristics are associated with children’s peer relationships. The purpose of this study is to examine behavioural and emotional strengths of sociometrically popular, rejected, controversial, neglected, and average children. 773 third-grade children (51% girls) are assessed with a sociometric questionnaire and self-evaluations of their behavioural and emotional strengths and difficulties. We examined intensified job demands (IJDs) and selecting-optimizing-compensating (SOC) strategies as predictors of job performance (task performance, organizational citizenship behavior). We also investigated SOC strategy use as a moderator in the linkages between IJDs and performance. We sampled three disparate occupational groups (N=4,582). We found that certain dimensions of IJDs showed significant associations with the indicators of job performance but there were also scale-based variations in these linkages, depending on the type of performance and on the sub-scale of IJDs. Rational Herding in Reward-Based Crowdfunding: An MTurk Experiment.

Crowdfunding is gaining popularity as a way of financing social sustainable initiatives. We performed a controlled economic experiment in MTurk by simulating a crowdfunding platform and developed a theoretical model that rationalizes herding behavior. The experiment was designed to test and quantify the causal effects of revealing specific information to prospective backers: (i) the number of early contributors already financing the project and (ii) positive opinions of other backers versus those of experts.
