Instytucja podmiotu zobowiązanego do zwrotu korzyści majątkowej poprzednio była uregulowana w art. 52 Kodeksu karnego1 oraz art. 416 Kodeksu postępowania karnego2. Przepisy te zostały uchylone, jednak po około dwóch latach ustawodawca powrócił do wspomnianego rozwiązania w art. 91a i art. 415a k.p.k. W porównaniu do wcześniejszej regulacji zmodyfikowano warunki zobowiązania, uprawnienia i obowiązki podmiotu oraz procesowe aspekty orzekania o jego odpowiedzialności. Social Inequalities and the Reform of Romanian Public Pension System by Law no. 127/2019

Social protection system had developed in order to ensure the protection of the citizens, but also to maintain the economic growth of the country. The importance of the pension system is given by its social purpose, which is poverty alleviation, adequacy of income and consumption smoothing at retirement. In countries of Central and Eastern Europe, the income inequalities – main cause of poverty, had increased with the economic development. The aim of this paper is to show the changes brought to Romanian public pension system by the Law no. 127/2019 regarding the provided benefits vis-à-vis of social inequalities existing among elderly people.

Alternative measures of body composition and wage premium: New evidence from Indonesia

This paper examines the relationship between body composition and earnings in a developing country setting. We use body mass index, waist circumference and hip circumference. Exploiting the panel structure of our longitudinal survey, we find that along with BMI, waist circumference is related to higher earnings in Indonesia. peerReviewed
