Abstract This study explores relationships between best practices in human resource (HR) management and the humanization of production processes. The study analyzes how best practices in HR management affect organizational health, productivity, and competitiveness in 4 workplaces with 480 employees. These workplaces implement a 3-year program of 20 practices in a sector specializing in fresh cut IV gamma products. Results show that these practices yield significant improvements in productivity indicators, risk prevention, corporate entrepreneurship, and work environment.
Under What Conditions Do the News Media Influence Corporate Reputation? The Roles of Media Dependency and Need for Orientation

Previous research has assumed uniform effects of the news media's influence on corporate reputation. This study uses theories of media system dependency and ‘need for orientation’ to examine contingent conditions affecting the degree of the media influence. Our integrated measurement approach gauging media coverage and stakeholder evaluations on the same dimensions of reputation furthered the methodological approach to this research area. We found that stakeholders depend more on the news media to learn about reputation dimensions that are difficult to directly experience or observe and for which the news media are the main source of information.

Recent research has shown that 3.4% of university students in Finland have a diagnosed or observed illness or disability that affects their learning at the university level. The University of Jyväskylä Language Centre embarked on an organised, ongoing research and intervention project to enable appropriate teaching practices to suit the needs of all students. The process, thus far, has shown there is a need to clarify the rights and obligations of students and teachers to enable an atmosphere of mutual trust. The current article describes a position statement and recommendations for actions that need to be taken to develop best practices for promoting scientific integrity through open science in health psychology endorsed at a Synergy Expert Group Meeting. Sixteen Synergy Meeting participants specializing in health, social and behavioural psychology convened to discuss priority issues regarding scientific integrity promotion and open science in health psychology.
