The role of temperament in children's affective and behavioral responses in achievement situations

Abstract Although students' affects and behaviors in achievement situations have been shown to be influenced by their previous learning experiences, less is known about how they relate to students' dispositional characteristics, such as temperament. This study examined to what extent children's temperament is related to their affective and behavioral responses in achievement situations. Income and Mental Well-Being : Personality Traits as Moderators

Using data from the participants of the Jyväskylä Longitudinal Study of Personality and Social Development (JYLS) at ages 42 and 50 (N = 326), this study provides empirical evidence of the relation between income and mental well-being and of the possible role of personality traits in modifying this relation. This doctoral thesis seeks to deepen the understanding of the factors that contribute to a firm’s growth from the perspective of the entrepreneur’s personality. The empirical data for this study was gathered through survey questionnaires distributed to members of entrepreneur organizations in Central Finland, Southern Ostrobothnia and Savonia (n=120, females 37%, males 63%, average age 50 years). The respondents were primarily founders of their own firms and approximately half worked in the service sector.
