Listening to music often triggers strong memories of events from our past, which influence how we affectively experience music listening and can therefore contribute to music’s therapeutic capacity. The aim of this study was to examine the valence and content of spontaneous music-evoked autobiographical memories (MEAMs) in listeners with self-reported depression, who typically demonstrate negatively biased autobiographical memory. From the field to the academic sphere how teachers professional identities and roles have changed in post-war Finland This study explores teacher autobiographies. The span of the writings extends mainly from the Second World War to the new millennium. The autobiographers are mostly elementary and secondary school teachers in Finland, although there are a few who have worked in vocational schools, polytechnic institutes or one of the various adult education centres. Background and Study Aims: Previous research on musical performance achievement has focused on the overall musical performance and on musical subskills. Two studies were conducted to identify predictors of motor skill acquisition in children pianists and of long-term development of motor skills in expert pianists in a relevant musical context. Methods: Motor skills at the piano were assessed in standardized C major scale playing. This paper discusses the concept of Rilkean memories, recently introduced by Mark Rowlands, to analyze the complex intermix of hardware and software related to the self of a robot. The Rilkean memory of an event is related to the trace of that episode left in the body of the individual. It transforms the act of remembering into behavioral and bodily dispositions, thus generating the peculiar behavioral style of the individual, which is at the basis of her autobiographical self. Se pretende llamar la atención sobre un par de frases que aparecen justo hacia la mitad de la controvertida doxografía de Aristóteles que se puede leer en las Vidas y doctrinas de los filósofos más ilustres de Diógenes Laercio V 31, y que desde luego no corresponden a ningún sistema doxográfico conocido. Como sucede no pocas veces en la obra laerciana, la misma apreciación sobre si el filósofo debe o no enamorarse y contraer matrimonio se repite idéntica en otras doxografías completamente distintas: la cirenaica (DL II 91), la estoica (DL VII 129) y la epicúrea (DL X 118).
