Database to Ontology Mapping Patterns in RDB2OWL Lite

We describe the RDB2OWL Lite language for relational database to RDF/OWL mapping specification and discuss the architectural and content specification patterns arising in mapping definition. RDB2OWL Lite is a simplification of original RDB2OWL with aggregation possibilities and order-based filters removed, while providing in-mapping SQL view definition possibilities. The mapping constructs and their usage patterns are illustrated on mapping examples from medical domain: medicine registries and hospital information system. The RDB2OWL Lite mapping implementation is offered both via translation into D2RQ and into standard R2RML mapping notations.

Background This work presents a sustainable approach for the stabilization of polylactic acid (PLA) against thermo-oxidative aging. Methods Naturally occurring phenolic and polyphenolic compounds, such as ferulic acid (FerAc), vanillic acid (VanAc), quercetin (Querc) and vitamin E (VitE), were introduced into PLA. Results The preliminary characterization of the systems formulated containing different amounts of natural stabilizers showed that all compounds used acted as plasticizers, leading to a decrease in rheological functions with respect to neat PLA, without significantly modifying the crystallinity of the raw material. The aim of this study was to explore, in vitro, whether the irradiation of human root surfaces with a diode laser might induce nonphysiologic intrapulpal temperature elevations and, therefore, jeopardize pulp vitality.The pulps were removed from human maxillary and mandibular incisors extracted for periodontal reasons. The root canals were enlarged to an apical size #60 file. The teeth were radiographed with standard dental films and a millimeter grid to determine root thickness. Objectives: Cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) is an innovative dental of imaging system characterized by rapid volumetric imaging with patient exposure to a single dose of radiation. The present study was carried out to compare the linear measurements obtained with CBCT and digital caliper in 20 mandibles from human cadavers. Study design: A total of 4800 linear measurements were measured between different mandibular anatomical points with CBCT and digital caliper. Abstract Purpose: To study the morphology of corneal tunnel incisions using diamond and steel keratomes. Setting: Department of Ophthalmology, University of Giessen, Germany. Methods: Corneal tunnel incisions were performed in six human cadaver eyes using three types of diamond keratomes and a steel keratome. The incision profile and morphology were evaluated and compared using light and scanning electron microscopy. Results: The steel keratome caused more disruption of corneal stromal tissue, while the diamond keratomes produced a more regular, smoother incision. The control of articulated soft robots, i.e. robots with flexible joints and rigid links, presents a challenge due to their in- trinsic elastic elements and nonlinear force-deflection dependency. This letter first proposes a discrete-time delayed unknown input- state observer based on a nominal robot model that reconstructs the total torque disturbance vector, resulting from the imperfect knowledge of the elastic torque characteristic, external torques, and other model uncertainties.
