Weak solution for Neumann (p,q)-Laplacian problem on Riemannian manifold
2019
We prove the existence of a nontrivial solution for a nonlinear (p, q)-Laplacian problem with Neumann boundary condition, on a non compact Riemannian manifold. The idea is to reduce the problem in variational form, which means to consider the critical points of the corresponding Euler-Lagrange functional in an Orlicz-Sobolev space. (C) 2019 Elsevier Inc. Multiplicity theorems for the Dirichlet problem involving the p-Laplacian
2003
Multiplicity theorems for the Dirichlet problem involving the p-Laplacian were proved using variational approach. It was shown that there existed an open interval and a positive real number, and each problem admits at least three weak solutions. Results on the existence of at least three weak solutions for the Dirichlet problems were established.
Uniqueness of positive solutions to some nonlinear Neumann problems
2017
Abstract Using the moving plane method, we obtain a Liouville type theorem for nonnegative solutions of the Neumann problem { div ( y a ∇ u ( x , y ) ) = 0 , x ∈ R n , y > 0 , lim y → 0 + y a u y ( x , y ) = − f ( u ( x , 0 ) ) , x ∈ R n , under general nonlinearity assumptions on the function f : R → R for any constant a ∈ ( − 1 , 1 ) .
Landesman-Lazer type (p, q)-equations with Neumann condition
2020
We consider a Neumann problem driven by the (p, q)-Laplacian under the Landesman-Lazer type condition. Using the classical saddle point theorem and other classical results of the calculus of variations, we show that the problem has at least one nontrivial weak solution.
Morse-Smale index theorems for elliptic boundary deformation problems.
2012
AbstractMorse-type index theorems for self-adjoint elliptic second order boundary value problems arise as the second variation of an energy functional corresponding to some variational problem. The celebrated Morse index theorem establishes a precise relation between the Morse index of a geodesic (as critical point of the geodesic action functional) and the number of conjugate points along the curve. Generalization of this theorem to linear elliptic boundary value problems appeared since seventies. (See, for instance, Smale (1965) [12], Uhlenbeck (1973) [15] and Simons (1968) [11] among others.) The aim of this paper is to prove a Morse–Smale index theorem for a second order self-adjoint el…
Evolution problems of Leray-Lions type with nonhomogeneous Neumann boundary conditions in metric random walk spaces
2019
Abstract In this paper we study evolution problems of Leray–Lions type with nonhomogeneous Neumann boundary conditions in the framework of metric random walk spaces. This covers cases with the p -Laplacian operator in weighted discrete graphs and nonlocal operators with nonsingular kernel in R N .
Existence of minimizers for eigenvalues of the Dirichlet-Laplacian with a drift
2015
Abstract This paper deals with the eigenvalue problem for the operator L = − Δ − x ⋅ ∇ with Dirichlet boundary conditions. We are interested in proving the existence of a set minimizing any eigenvalue λ k of L under a suitable measure constraint suggested by the structure of the operator. More precisely we prove that for any c > 0 and k ∈ N the following minimization problem min { λ k ( Ω ) : Ω quasi-open set , ∫ Ω e | x | 2 / 2 d x ≤ c } has a solution.
Nonexistence of global weak solutions for a nonlinear Schrodinger equation in an exterior domain

We study the large-time behavior of solutions to the nonlinear exterior problem L u ( t , x ) = &kappa
Fractional Laplacians in bounded domains: Killed, reflected, censored, and taboo Lévy flights.
2018
The fractional Laplacian $(- \Delta)^{\alpha /2}$, $\alpha \in (0,2)$ has many equivalent (albeit formally different) realizations as a nonlocal generator of a family of $\alpha $-stable stochastic processes in $R^n$. On the other hand, if the process is to be restricted to a bounded domain, there are many inequivalent proposals for what a boundary-data respecting fractional Laplacian should actually be. This ambiguity holds true not only for each specific choice of the process behavior at the boundary (like e.g. absorbtion, reflection, conditioning or boundary taboos), but extends as well to its particular technical implementation (Dirchlet, Neumann, etc. problems). The inferred jump-type …
Pairs of solutions for Robin problems with an indefinite and unbounded potential, resonant at zero and infinity
2018
We consider a semilinear Robin problem driven by the Laplacian plus an indefinite and unbounded potential and a Caratheodory reaction term which is resonant both at zero and $$\pm \infty $$ . Using the Lyapunov–Schmidt reduction method and critical groups (Morse theory), we show that the problem has at least two nontrivial smooth solutions.
