Search for charged Higgs bosons in $e^+ e^-$ collisions at energies up to $\sqrt{s}$ = 189 GeV
2000
The data collected at centre-of-mass energies of 188.6 GeV by ALEPH at LEP, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 176.2 pb-1, are analysed in a search for pair-produced charged Higgs bosons H+/-. Three analyses are employed to select the taunutaunu, taunucs and cscs final states. No evidence for a signal is found. Upper limits are set on the production cross section as a function of the branching fraction BR(H+ to tau nu) and of the mass M(H+), assuming that the sum of the branching ratios is equal to one. In the framework of a two-Higgs-doublet model, charged Higgs bosons with masses below 65.4 GeV/c2 are excluded at 95% confidence level independently of the decay mode.
Search for an invisibly decaying Higgs boson in e+e-collisions at 189 GeV
1999
The data collected in 1998 by ALEPH at LEP at a centre-of-mass energy of 188.6 GeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 176.2 pb(-1), are analysed to search for invisible decays of a Higgs boson produced in the reaction e(+) e(-) --> hZ. The number of events found in the data and their properties art: in agreement with the Standard Model expectation. This search results in an improved 95% C.L. lower limit on the Higgs boson mass of 95.4 GeV/c(2), assuming it decays totally invisibly and for a production cross section equal to that of the Standard Model. Search for γγ decays of a Higgs boson in e+e- collisions at √s up to 209 GeV
2002
A search for events with a photon pair arising from the decay of a Higgs boson produced in association with a fermion pair, is performed in 893 pb-1 of data recorded by the ALEPH detector at LEP at centre-of-mass energies up to 209 GeV. No excess of such events is found over the expected background, An upper limit is derived on the product of the e+e- → HZ cross section and the H → γγ branching fraction as a function of the Higgs boson mass. A fermiophobic Higgs boson produced with the Standard Model cross section is excluded at 95% confidence level for all masses below 105.4 GeV/c2. © 2002 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
Partial wave analysis ofJ/ψ→γηη
2013
Based on a sample of 2.25 x 10(8) J/psi events collected with the BESIII detector at BEPCII, a full partial wave analysis on J/psi -> gamma eta eta was performed using the relativistic covariant tensor amplitude method. The results show that the dominant 0(++) and 2(++) components are from the f(0)(1710), f(0)(2100), f(0)(1500), f(2)'(1525), f(2)(1810) and f(2)(2340). The resonance parameters and branching fractions are also presented.
Precision measurement of the ratio BR(KS→π+π−e+e−)/BR(KL→π+π−πD0)
2011
Abstract The K S → π + π − e + e − decay mode was investigated using the data collected in 2002 by the NA48/1 Collaboration. With about 23 k K S → π + π − e + e − events and 59 k K L → π + π − π D 0 normalization decays, the K S → π + π − e + e − branching ratio relative to the K L → π + π − π D 0 one was determined to be BR ( K S → π + π − e + e − ) / BR ( K L → π + π − π D 0 ) = ( 3.28 ± 0.06 stat ± 0.04 syst ) × 10 − 2 . This result was used to set the upper limit | g E1 / g BR | 3.0 at 90% CL on the presence, in the decay amplitude, of an E1 direct emission ( g E1 ) term relative to the dominant inner bremsstrahlung ( g BR ) term. The CP-violating asymmetry A ϕ in the sin ϕ cos ϕ distri…
P- versus S-wave at rest in LH2
1992
Abstract The annihilation p p →π 0 π 0 was measured for antiprotons stopped in liquid hydrogen (LH2). This reaction is only allowed from odd angular momentum states of the p p - atom . The resulting branching ratio BR ( p p →π 0 π 0 ) LH 2 =(6.93±0.22 stat ±0.37 syst )×10 −4 , combined with a previous measurement of the branching ratio BR ( p p →π + π − ) 2 P in gas from the 2P-state of p p suggests a fraction of P-wave annihilation in LH2 of (28.8±3.5)%, much larger than the values obtained from other annihilation channels. A method of reconciling the contradictory results is discussed.
Measurement of the inclusive branching fraction for ψ(3686)→KS0+anything
2021
Abstract Using 5.9 pb−1 of e + e − annihilation data collected at center-of-mass energies from 3.640 to 3.701 GeV with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII Collider, we measure the observed cross sections of e + e − → K S 0 X (where X = anything ). From a fit to these observed cross sections with the sum of continuum and ψ ( 3686 ) and J / ψ Breit-Wigner functions and considering initial state radiation and the BEPCII beam energy spread, we obtain for the first time the product of ψ ( 3686 ) leptonic width and inclusive decay branching fraction Γ ψ ( 3686 ) e e B ( ψ ( 3686 ) → K S 0 X ) = ( 373.8 ± 6.7 ± 20.0 ) eV, and assuming Γ ψ ( 3686 ) e e is ( 2.33 ± 0.04 ) keV from PDG value, we measur…
Exclusive production ofDs+Ds−,Ds*+Ds−, andDs*+Ds*−viae+e−annihilation with initial-state radiation
2010
We perform a study of exclusive production of D{sub s}{sup +}D{sub s}{sup -}, D{sub s}{sup *+}D{sub s}{sup -}, and D{sub s}{sup *+}D{sub s}{sup *-} final states in initial-state-radiation events from e{sup +}e{sup -} annihilations at a center-of-mass energy near 10.58 GeV, to search for charmonium 1{sup --} states. The data sample corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 525 fb{sup -1} and was recorded by the BABAR experiment at the PEP-II storage ring. The D{sub s}{sup +}D{sub s}{sup -}, D{sub s}{sup *+}D{sub s}{sup -}, and D{sub s}{sup *+}D{sub s}{sup *-} mass spectra show evidence of the known {psi} resonances. Limits are extracted for the branching ratios of the decays X(4260){yields}…
Measurements ofCP-Violating Asymmetries and Branching Fractions inBMeson Decays toη′K
2006
We present measurements of CP-violating asymmetries and branching fractions for the decays B+->omega pi(+), B+->omega K+, and B-0 ->omega K-0. The data sample corresponds to 232x10(6) B (B) over bar pairs produced by e(+)e(-) annihilation at the Upsilon(4S) resonance. For the decay B-0 ->omega K-S(0), we measure the time-dependent CP-violation parameters S=0.51(-0.39)(+0.35)+/- 0.02, and C=-0.55(-0.26)(+0.28)+/- 0.03. We also measure the branching fractions, in units of 10(-6), B(B+->omega pi(+))=6.1 +/- 0.7 +/- 0.4, B(B+->omega K+)=6.1 +/- 0.6 +/- 0.4, and B(B-0 ->omega K-0)=6.2 +/- 1.0 +/- 0.4, and charge asymmetries A(ch)(B+->omega pi(+))=-0.01 +/- 0.10 +/- 0.01 and A(ch)(B+->omega K+)=0…
Branching ratios for p annihilation at rest into two-body final states
2001
Abstract Measurements of two-body branching ratios for p p annihilations at rest in liquid and gaseous (12 ρ STP ) hydrogen are reported. Channels studied are p p →π 0 π 0 ,π 0 η , K 0 S K 0 L , K + K − . The branching ratio for the π 0 π 0 channel in liquid H 2 is measured to be ( 6.14±0.40)×10 −4 . The results are compared with those from other experiments. The fraction of P-state annihilation for a range of target densities from 0.002 ρ STP to liquid H 2 is determined. Values obtained include 0.11±0.02 in liquid H 2 and 0.48±0.04 in 12 ρ STP H 2 gas.
