Measurement of theCPAsymmetry and Branching Fraction ofB0→ρ0K0
2007
We present a measurement of the branching fraction and time-dependent CP asymmetry of B^0 to rho^0 K^0. The results are obtained from a data sample of 227 10^6 Y4S to BB_ decays collected with the BaBar detector at the PEP2 asymmetric-energy B Factory at SLAC. From a time-dependent maximum likelihood fit yielding 111+/-19 signal events we find B(B^0 to rho^0 K^0)=(4.9+/-0.8+/-0.9) 10^-6, where the first error is statistical and the second systematic. We report the measurement of the CP parameters S=0.20+/-0.52+/-0.24 and C=0.64+/-0.41+/-0.20.
Study of High Momentumη′Production inB→η′Xs
2004
We measure the branching fraction for the charmless semi-inclusive process B --> eta'Xs, where the eta' meson has a momentum in the range 2.0 to 2.7 GeV/c in the upsilon4S center-of-mass frame and Xs represents a system comprising a kaon and zero to four pions. We find B(B --> eta'Xs) = [3.9 +/- 0.8(stat) +/- 0.5(syst) +/- 0.8(model)] x 10(-4). We also obtain the Xs mass spectrum and find that it fits models predicting high masses.
Semileptonic D(s) -meson decays in the light of recent data
2018
Inspired by recent improved measurements of charm semileptonic decays at BESIII, we study a large set of $D({D}_{s})$-meson semileptonic decays where the hadron in the final state is one of ${D}^{0}$, $\ensuremath{\rho}$, $\ensuremath{\omega}$, ${\ensuremath{\eta}}^{(\ensuremath{'})}$ in the case of ${D}^{+}$ decays, and ${D}^{0}$, $\ensuremath{\phi}$, ${K}^{0}$, ${K}^{*}(892{)}^{0}$, ${\ensuremath{\eta}}^{(\ensuremath{'})}$ in the case of ${D}_{s}^{+}$ decays. The required hadronic form factors are computed in the full kinematical range of momentum transfer by employing the covariant confined quark model developed by us. A detailed comparison of the form factors with those from other appro…
Determination of the absolute branching fractions of D0→K−e+νe and D+→K¯0e+νe
2021
Using 2.93 fb$^{-1}$ of $e^+e^-$ collision data collected with the BESIII detector at a center-of-mass energy of 3.773~GeV, we measure the absolute branching fractions of the decays $D^0\to K^-e^+\nu_e$ and $D^+\to \bar K^0 e^+\nu_e$ to be $(3.574\pm0.031_{\rm stat}\pm 0.025_{\rm syst})\%$ and $(8.70\pm0.14_{\rm stat}\pm 0.16_{\rm syst})\%$, respectively. Starting with the process $e^+e^-\to D\bar{D}$, a new reconstruction method is employed to select events that contain candidates for both $D\to \bar Ke^+\nu_e$ and $\bar D\to Ke^-\bar \nu_e$ decays. The branching fractions reported in this work are consistent within uncertainties with previous BESIII measurements that selected events conta…
Observation of the Semileptonic D+ Decay into the K¯1(1270)0 Axial-Vector Meson
2019
By analyzing a 2.93 fb(-1) data sample of e(+)e(-) collisions, recorded at a center-of-mass energy of 3.773 GeV with the BESIII detector operated at the BEPCII collider, we report the first observa ...
Search for a Light Higgs Boson Decaying to Long-Lived Weakly Interacting Particles in Proton-Proton Collisions ats=7 TeVwith the ATLAS Detector
2012
A search for the decay of a light Higgs boson (120-140 GeV) to a pair of weakly interacting, long-lived particles in 1.94 fb(-1) of proton-proton collisions at root s = 7 TeV recorded in 2011 by the ATLAS detector is presented. The search strategy requires that both long-lived particles decay inside the muon spectrometer. No excess of events is observed above the expected background and limits on the Higgs boson production times branching ratio to weakly interacting, long-lived particles are derived as a function of the particle proper decay length.
Weak Decays of ExcitedBMesons
2015
We investigate the decays of the excited (bq[over ¯]) mesons as probes of the short-distance structure of the weak ΔB=1 transitions. These states are unstable under the electromagnetic or strong interactions, although their widths are typically suppressed by phase space. Compared to the pseudoscalar B meson, the purely leptonic decays of the vector B^{*} are not chirally suppressed and are sensitive to different combinations of the underlying weak effective operators. An interesting example is B_{s}^{*}→ℓ^{+}ℓ^{-}, which has a rate that can be accurately predicted in the standard model. The branching fraction is B∼10^{-11}, irrespective of the lepton flavor and where the main uncertainty st…
Search for Neutral, Long-Lived Particles Decaying into Two Muons inpp¯Collisions ats=1.96 TeV
2006
We present a search for a neutral particle, pair-produced in p-pbar collisions at sqrt(s)=1.96 TeV, which decays into two muons and lives long enough to travel at least 5 cm before decaying. The analysis uses ~380 pb^-1 of data recorded with the D0 detector. The background is estimated to be about one event. No candidates are observed, and limits are set on the pair production cross section times branching fraction into dimuons + X for such particles. For a mass of 10 GeV and lifetime of 4x10^-11 s, we exclude values greater than 0.14 pb (95% C.L.). These results are used to limit the interpretation of NuTeV's excess of di-muon events.
Improved search for two body muon decay μ+→e+XH
2020
Charged lepton flavor violating muon decay ${\ensuremath{\mu}}^{+}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{e}^{+}{X}_{H}$, where ${X}_{H}$ is a massive neutral boson, was sought by searching for extra peaks in the muon decay ${\ensuremath{\mu}}^{+}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{e}^{+}\ensuremath{\nu}\overline{\ensuremath{\nu}}$ energy spectrum in the ${m}_{{X}_{H}}$ mass region $47.8--95.1\text{ }\text{ }\mathrm{MeV}/{c}^{2}$. No signal was found and 90% confidence level upper limits were set on the branching ratio $\mathrm{\ensuremath{\Gamma}}({\ensuremath{\mu}}^{+}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{e}^{+}{X}_{H})/\mathrm{\ensuremath{\Gamma}}({\ensuremath{\mu}}^{+}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{e}^{+}\ensuremath{\nu}\overline{…
Search for Pair Production of Doubly Charged Higgs Bosons in theH++H--→μ+μ+μ−μ−Final State
2008
We report the results of a search for pair production of doubly-charged Higgs bosons via ppbar to H^{++}H^{--}X to mu^+mu^+mu^-mu^-X at sqrt{s} = 1.96 TeV. We use a dataset corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 1.1 fb^{-1} collected from 2002 to 2006 by the D0 detector at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider. In the absence of an excess above the standard model background, lower mass limits of M(H^{pmpm}_L) > 150 GeV/c^2 and M(H^{pmpm}_R) > 127 GeV/c^2 at 95% C.L. are set, respectively, for left-handed and right-handed doubly-charged Higgs bosons assuming a 100% branching ratio into muons.
