Objectives: Fibro-osseous lesions of the craniofacial complex comprise of a diverse, interesting and challenging group of conditions that pose difficulties in classification and treatment. The two most confused benign fibro-osseous lesions are fibrous dysplasia and ossifying fibroma. Sometimes, the classic clinical, radiologic or pathologic features of fibrous dysplasia or ossifying fibroma may not be evident, but overlapping features of both may be seen. The dilemma in diagnosis of these lesions rests in the bony trabeculae as well as in the fibrous stroma. Fibrous dysplasia is a disturbance of bone metabolism that is classified as a benign fibro-osseous lesion. Fibrous connective tissue containing abnormal bone, replaces normal bone. The etiology of fibrous dysplasia is unknown. The radiographic appearance of the irregularly shaped trabeculae aids in the differential diagnosis. Occurring most commonly in the second decade of life, the lesions of fibrous dysplasia can be surgically recontoured for esthetic or functional purposes once they become dormant.

Una de las opciones de tratamiento para dichas lesiones es el uso de andamiajes, siendo superior respecto a otras tecnicas que consiguen un fibrocartilago como resultado. Hemos elaborado microesferas de PLLA y CHT para usarlos como andamiaje en lesiones osteocondrales producidas a conejos albinos New Zealand. In this work, we introduce a profiling scheme for modern functional logic languages covering notions like laziness, sharing, and non-determinism. Firstly, we instrument a natural (big-step) semantics in order to associate a symbolic cost to each basic operation (e.g., variable updates, function unfoldings, case evaluations). While this cost semantics provides a formal basis to analyze the cost of a computation, the implementation of a cost-augmented interpreter based on it would introduce a huge overhead. Solitary fibrous tumors of the pleura are rare tumors with unpredictable clinical behaviour. We report about two patients with an incidental finding of an intrathoracic tumor. Preoperative diagnosis was uncertain. In both patients, a solid tumor of the pleura was resected en bloc in combination with a wedge resection of the lung following anterolateral thoracotomy. The postoperative course was eventful. Six months after primary complete resection there were no signs of tumor recurrence.

We present a new approach to the celebrated theorem of Rado–Kneser–Choquet (RKC) on univalence of planar harmonic mappings. The novelty lies in establishing a continuous path (isotopy) from the given harmonic map to a conformal one. Along this path the mappings retain positive Jacobian determinant by virtue of so-called Minimum Principle. These ideas extend to nonlinear uncoupled systems of partial differential equations, as in Iwaniec, Koski and Onninen [‘Isotropic p-harmonic systems in 2D, Jacobian estimates and univalent solutions’, Rev. A new proof of the support theorem and the range characterization for the Radon transform

The aim of this note is to give a new and elementary proof of the support theorem for the Radon transform, which is based only on the projection theorem and the Paley-Wiener theorem for the Fourier transform. The idea is to solve a certain system of linear equations in order to determine the coefficients of a homogeneous polynomial (interpolation problem). By the same method, we get a short proof of the range characterization for Radon transforms of functions supported in a ball.
