Professional educators and burnout

In recent years the risk of developing a burnout syndrome among workers in the helping professions has been clearly stated. Although burnout syndrome, in fact, is threatening different professional activities, incidence was reported higher in sanitary and social professions. In this work the risk of developing a Burnout syndrome was evidenced to occur in Educators working in the socio-sanitary area. Causal relationships where indicated not only in the working context and in the peculiar characteristic of the patients, but also in the precarious, from the juridical point of view, working conditions.

Abstract Forty years ago in a xx th-century church in Torino, a small fire partially burned some of the decorative external boards of the sound-box of the organ. The focus of this present work was to find a treatment able to consolidate partially burnt wood in dry conditions, in which the external charred layer would be lost if not well preserved because of its incoherence. Using a cross-sectional design, this study examined the relationships between parental guilt, shame, need frustration, and homework stress in students with learning disabilities (LD) and typically developing students (TD) and their parents. One hundred and eight parent-child dyads (54 LD, 54 TD) completed questionnaires to assess homework stress, parental need frustration, guilt, and shame. Parents of students with LD reported more stress, need frustration, shame, and guilt than parents of TD students. Background: In Italy since February 2020, the unexpected massive afflux of COVID-19 patients exposed healthcare professionals to high work-related stress, high time pressure and increased the risk of being infected. Resumen: El objetivo de este estudio es evaluar los resultados de un programa breve de entrenamiento en mindfulness sobre la atención plena, la autocompasión y la calidad de vida profesional en equipos de cuidados paliativos. Para ello se llevó a cabo un estudio preexperimental pre-post. Participaron 36 profesionales de equipos de cuidados paliativos de Madrid (España). Phytosociological remarks on residual woodlands of Laurus nobilis in Sicily

A phytosociological study was done of Laurus nobilis woodlands in Sicily. The analysis, based on 18 relevés, supports the definition of a new syntaxon (Acantho mollis-Lauretum nobilis ass. nov.), considered as a vicariant of similar vegetation aspects described in other Mediterranean areas (Iberian and Italian peninsulas). The study mainly includes some unpublished sites where polycormic individuals of laurel, sometimes reaching 13-15 meters in height, dominates the tree layer.
