Mood, Physical, and Mental Load in Spanish Teachers of Urban School: The Role of Intensive or Split Shift

Psychosocial risk factors threaten the health of teachers, who are considered to be a group at high risk of suffering burnout syndrome. The objective of this study is to measure the levels of work satisfaction, burnout, engagement, emotional stability, fatigue, and mood of teachers, depending on their workday: intensive or split shift. A nonexperimental, descriptive–comparative research design is proposed for this study. A follow-up questionnaire has been developed to assess a teacher’s levels of physical fatigue, mental fatigue, and mood at the beginning and end of the 9 days of work analyzed. Influencia del género sobre el proceso de desarrollo del síndrome de quemarse por el trabajo (Burnout) en profesionales de enfermería

The purpose of this study was to analyze if gender differences establish significant differences in the levels and process of the burnout syndrome. Results indicate that the men (N = 72) perceive significantly more despersonalization that t he women (N = 258). In the sample of men p ersonal accomplishment was not a significant antecedent of despersonalization, while in the sample of women emotional exhaustion was not a significant antecedent of inclination to be absent. As a c onclusion it i s recommended that managers of personnel i n h ealth sector should take into consideration the gender differences in the intervention on the burnout syndrome.

Professional educators and burnout

In recent years the risk of developing a burnout syndrome among workers in the helping professions has been clearly stated. Although burnout syndrome, in fact, is threatening different professional activities, incidence was reported higher in sanitary and social professions. In this work the risk of developing a Burnout syndrome was evidenced to occur in Educators working in the socio-sanitary area. Causal relationships where indicated not only in the working context and in the peculiar characteristic of the patients, but also in the precarious, from the juridical point of view, working conditions.

Using a cross-sectional design, this study examined the relationships between parental guilt, shame, need frustration, and homework stress in students with learning disabilities (LD) and typically developing students (TD) and their parents. One hundred and eight parent-child dyads (54 LD, 54 TD) completed questionnaires to assess homework stress, parental need frustration, guilt, and shame. Latent burnout profiles in a sample of frontline healthcare professionals after the peak of the Italian COVID-19 pandemic

Background: In Italy since February 2020, the unexpected massive afflux of COVID-19 patients exposed healthcare professionals to high work-related stress, high time pressure and increased the risk of being infected. Resumen: El objetivo de este estudio es evaluar los resultados de un programa breve de entrenamiento en mindfulness sobre la atención plena, la autocompasión y la calidad de vida profesional en equipos de cuidados paliativos. Para ello se llevó a cabo un estudio preexperimental pre-post. Participaron 36 profesionales de equipos de cuidados paliativos de Madrid (España).
