Abstract The present paper aims to identify new approaches of management by re-considering business comportment and attitudes. The research looked into specialized literature on new development of business in the post-crisis era and, on another hand, on leadership and organizational culture, in order to establish a possible profile of the most efficient management and organizational culture adapted to the new challenges of business environment, intending to demonstrate that managers need to develop leadership traits and re-shape organizational culture for a better business performance.

Tajā izklāstīti dažādi faktori, kas ietekmē MVU attīstību, kā arī izaicinājumi un perspektīvas, ar ko tie sastopas mūsdienu globalizētajā un digitalizētajā ekonomikā. Darbā plaši iztirzāta MVU būtiskā loma ekonomikas un sociālās dimensijas iekļaujošā izaugsmē. Šajā darbā arī iekļautas dažādas stratēģijas un valsts programmas, kam ir labvēlīgs iespaids uz uzņēmumu produktivitāti un attīstību. Padziļinātas izpratnes radīšanai kā piemērs ir izvēlēts mazo un vidējo uzņēmumu sektors Latvijā un Vācijā, identificējot abu sektoru trūkumus un priekšrocības.

This study examines how software businesses are acquiring new software technology innovations (STIs) in rapidly changing globalized business environment characterized by rapidly shortening software technology life cycles, changing customer demands, and intense competition. It was executed through both theoretical and empirical investigations and analyses. It describes one case company as an example of the diffusion of STI and develops a framework for the diffusion of software technology innovation. Employee opportunities for self-directed learning at technology organisations : features and frames of self-directed learning projects

The importance of self-directed learning (SDL) in a business environment has been highlighted as a way to increase an organisation’s competitiveness and innovativeness. While organisations increasingly require SDL from employees, less attention is paid to the situations and frames enabling it. This study examines self-directed learning projects (SDLPs), situations in which SDL is realised as an individual or collective phenomenon. Based on ethnographic research, this study’s data consisted of field notes, field records and interviews. I used analysis of key incidents and ethnographic content analysis as an analytical tools.
