Organizational model and operations performance: a longitudinal study of Italian Judicial Courts
The study focuses on six Italian judicial courts that recently implemented a new organizational model based on the so-called "Ufficio Per il Processo" (UPP) and gathers qualitative and quantitative data over a two-year period (pre- and post-UPP). The research investigates the relationship between court clerks' organizational models and operations performance. The results indicate that the different types of organizational models are associated with improved performance when compared to the pre-implementation level depending on the cases’ congestion level the court has to deal with. Abstract The paper describes the use of business process models for effective managing of information system execution processes and transparent representation of execution statuses. Contrary to traditional approaches where business process models are used only in the initial stages of information system development, the proposed approach suggests direct utilization of business process models during the use of information systems. Information system usability can be improved by using new means of representation, and business process models can serve as an efficient way to visualize execution processes in information systems.

This paper proposes a mapping technique for automatically translating rules expressed in a format based on natural language, i.e. Semantics of Business Vocabulary and Business Rules (SBVR) standard, into production rules that can be executed by a computer (i.e. Rule engine).
