Insights on Partial Information Sharing in Supply Chain dynamics

This paper provides an assessment of partial Information Sharing (IS) in Supply Chain (SC). We study the dynamics of collaborative multi-echelon structure, characterized by an increasing level of information visibility among partners. To do so, we mathematically model six four-echelon serial SCs via difference equations and conduct numerical simulations on the basis of a robust design of experiment. Results shows how (1) as the extent of IS increases, the performance of whole SC improves as well, and (2) the impact of IS depends not on which particular members are involved but on the number of collaborative members.

A mathematical model of gaseous fuel solenoid injector for spark ignition engine has been realized and validated through experimental data. The gas injector was studied with particular reference to the complex needle motion during the opening and closing phases, which strongly affects the amount of fuel injected. Ordered polyiodide networks have recently gathered considerable attention as electronic materials, a topic historically dominated by metals. Could we incorporate metal cations into polyiodide frameworks in a controlled manner to simultaneously boost electronic properties and robustness of these materials? Herein we present a first principles study featuring three analogous polyazacyclophanes (L, L-Me, L-Me3), differing only in the extent of N-methylation. Au deposited on CeO2 prepared by a nanocasting route: A high activity catalyst for CO oxidation

Abstract A set of catalysts comprised of gold on different CeO 2 supports has been prepared by a nanocasting route and characterized by several physicochemical techniques. These catalysts have been tested for CO oxidation and show outstanding catalytic activity. Higher calcination temperatures of the hard template, producing a poorly ordered silica template, have led to a higher amount of oxygen vacancies on the surface of CeO 2 . The presence of surface oxygen defects in the support combined with the deposition of Au nanoparticles ( ca. 3 nm) homogeneously dispersed on the CeO 2 support may explain the excellent behaviour for low temperature CO oxidation. A non-parametric Scale-based Corner Detector

2008

This paper introduces a new Harris-affine corner detector algorithm, that does not need parameters to locate corners in images, given an observation scale. Standard detectors require to fine tune the values of parameters which strictly depend on the particular input image. A quantitative comparison between our implementation and a standard Harris-affine implementation provides good results, showing that the proposed methodology is robust and accurate. The benchmark consists of public images used in literature for feature detection.

Robust stability and stabilization of uncertain T-S fuzzy systems with time-varying delay: An input-output approach

An input-output approach to the stability and stabilization of uncertain Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy systems with time-varying delay is proposed in this paper. The time-varying parameter uncertainties are assumed to be norm-bounded, and the delay is intervally time varying. A novel method is employed to approximate the time-varying delay, based on which the considered system is transformed into a feedback interconnection form. Energetic macroscopic representation and inversion based control of fuel cell in a series hybrid race vehicle system

This paper studies the replacement of engine and generator as range extender in a hybrid racing car with a fuel cell system. A model of the original system of the car using range extender consisting of an internal combustion engine and electric generator has been developed respecting the action-reaction principle used by energetic macroscopic representation (EMR) and its inversion based control (IBC) to organise its subsystems interconnection according to the physical causality. Robust optimality of linear saturated control in uncertain linear network flows

We propose a novel approach that, given a linear saturated feedback control policy, asks for the objective function that makes robust optimal such a policy. The approach is specialized to a linear network flow system with unknown but bounded demand and politopic bounds on controlled flows. All results are derived via the Hamilton-Jacobi-Isaacs and viscosity theory.

ROBUST CONTROL STRATEGIES FOR MULTI—INVENTORY SYSTEMS WITH AVERAGE FLOW CONSTRAINTS

Abstract In this paper we consider multi—inventory systems in presence of uncertain demand. We assume that i) demand is unknown but bounded in an assigned compact set and ii) the control inputs (controlled flows) are subject to assigned constraints. Given a long—term average demand, we select a nominal flow that feeds such a demand. In this context, we are interested in a control strategy that meets at each time all possible current demands and achieves the nominal flow in the average.
