The analytical signal is a complex representation of a time domain signal: the real part is the time domain signal itself, while the imaginary part is its Hilbert transform. It has been observed that damage, even at a very low level, yields clearly detectable variations of analytical signal quantities such as phase and instantaneous frequency. International audience; A nonlinear electrical transmission line with an intersite circuit element acting as a nonlinear resistance is introduced and investigated. In the continuum limit, the dynamics of localized signals is described by a nonlinear evolution equation belonging to the family of nonlinear diffusive Burgers' equations. This equation admits compact pulse solutions and shares some symmetry properties with the Rosenau-Hyman K(2,2) equation. Spectral estimators for Doppler analysis of intracoronary ultrasound catheters

With the zero-cross-detection method (ZCD) it has been shown that it is not possible to achieve a reproducible quantitative, and robust evaluation of an inter-coronary audio signal. The authors define spectral estimators to analyze the Doppler-audio signal. Measurements in a blood flow model have shown that the ZCD method underestimates the expected velocity at all speeds. StalAge – An algorithm designed for construction of speleothem age models

Abstract Here we present a new algorithm ( StalAge ), which is designed to construct speleothem age models. The algorithm uses U-series ages and their corresponding age uncertainty for modelling and also includes stratigraphic information in order to further constrain and improve the age model. StalAge is applicable to problematic datasets that include outliers, age inversions, hiatuses and large changes in growth rate. Manual selection of potentially inaccurate ages prior to application is not required. StalAge can be applied by the general, non-expert user and has no adjustable free parameters.
