Waterjet dissection in pediatric cranioplasty
2010
Object Waterjet dissection has been shown to separate tissues of different resistance, with preservation of blood vessels. In cranioplasty, separation of subcutaneous tissue and dura mater is often difficult to achieve because the various tissue layers strongly adhere to each other after decompressive craniotomy. In the present study, the potential advantages and drawbacks of the waterjet technique in cranioplasty after craniectomy and duraplasty are addressed. Methods The waterjet effect on fresh human cadaveric dura mater specimens as well as on several dural repair patches was tested in vitro under standardized conditions, with waterjet pressures up to 80 bar. Subsequently, 8 pediatric …
Bestimmung der Knochenqualität vor Wirbelsäuleninstrumentation - Stellenwert verschiedener in vivo-Methoden
2008
OBJECTIVE: The present investigation should elucidate which assessment technique for bone quality is most appropriate to estimate preoperatively fixation strength of instrumental spine fusions. METHODS: VDS-screw fixation strength in 50 human cadaveric vertebral bodies was approximated by means of pullout force assessment. Bone quality was assessed by Dual Energy X-ray Absorptiometry (DEXA), Quantitative Computed Tomography (QCT), MRT and histomorphometry. For each of these techniques, correlation with axial pull out force strength was investigated. RESULTS: Highest correlation was found for cancellous bone density (QCT) (r = 0.72; p < 0.001) and DEXA (r = 0.70; p < 0.001). MRT, cortical bo…
The effect of cement fixation on initial micromotion of the femoral component in condylar knee replacement
1992
Four fresh, cadaveric specimens were fitted with total knee replacements and mounted on a knee joint loading and measuring rig. Femoral component micromotion in the sagittal plane was measured with a transducer during flexion and extension of the specimen. Various condylar designs were used without and with cement. Movement followed a characteristic curve pattern and was less with cement fixation particularly for bone of low trabecular strength as determined by bone sample tests for stiffness. Cement fixation appears to be superior to cementless fixation.
Melodrammatici e risorgimentali: "I briganti" visti da Parigi
2022
The article focuses on the opera of Saverio Mercadante and Jacopo Crescini "I briganti" (Paris, Théâtre-Italien, 1836), and investigates, in a cultural and reconstructive historiographical perspective, its melodramatic and risorgimental meanings.
ON SYLOW NORMALIZERS OF FINITE GROUPS
2013
[EN] The paper considers the influence of Sylow normalizers, i.e. normalizers of Sylow subgroups, on the structure of finite groups. In the universe of finite soluble groups it is known that classes of groups with nilpotent Hall subgroups for given sets of primes are exactly the subgroup- closed saturated formations satisfying the following property: a group belongs to the class if and only if its Sylow normalizers do so. The paper analyzes the extension of this research to the universe of all finite groups.
On second minimal subgroups of Sylow subgroups of finite groups
2011
A subgroup H of a finite group G is a partial CAP-subgroup of G if there is a chief series of G such that H either covers or avoids its chief factors. Partial cover and avoidance property has turned out to be very useful to clear up the group structure. In this paper, finite groups in which the second minimal subgroups of their Sylow p-subgroups, p a fixed prime, are partial CAP-subgroups are completely classified.
On some classes of supersoluble groups
2007
[EN] Finite groups G for which for every subgroup H and for all primes q dividing the index |G:H| there exists a subgroup K of G such that H is contained in K and |K:H|=q are called Y-groups. Groups in which subnormal subgroups permute with all Sylow subgroups are called PST-groups. In this paper a local version of the Y-property leading to a local characterisation of Y-groups, from which the classical characterisation emerges, is introduced. The relationship between PST-groups and Y-groups is also analysed.
Finite groups with all minimal subgroups solitary
2016
We give a complete classification of the finite groups with a unique subgroup of order p for each prime p dividing its order. All the groups considered in this paper will be finite. One of the most fruitful lines in the research in abstract group theory during the last years has been the study of groups in which the members of a certain family of subgroups satisfy a certain subgroup embedding property. The family of the subgroups of prime order (also called minimal subgroups) has attracted the interest of many mathematicians. For example, a well-known result of Itˆo (see [8, Kapitel III, Satz 5.3; 9]) states that a group of odd order with all minimal subgroups in the center is nilpotent. Th…
