The paper aims at assessing Jacob Viner's role in that brand of monetary thought which historians associate with the Chicago School and whose origins can be retraced in the writings and teaching of Frank Knight, Lloyd Mints, Henry Simons and Viner himself. Incretins are metabolic hormones released after a meal that increase insulin secretion from pancreatic β-cells. The two main incretins are the intestinal peptides glucagon-like peptide-1 and glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide. Both induce a decrease in glycemia, slow down the absorption of nutrients, and are inactivated by the enzyme dipeptidyl peptidase-4. Speed Control of a two-Degrees of Freedom Induction Motor with Rotor Helical Motion for Industrial Applications

This paper describes the realization of a two-degrees of freedom induction motor prototype with rotor helical motion, suitable for several industrial applications as grinders, augers, drilling and milling spindles, robotic arms and drives for medical tools and prostheses. Vibration signature analysis for monitoring rotor broken bar in double squirrel cage induction motors based on wavelet analysis

Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to present a diagnosis technique, for rotor broken bar in double cage induction motor, based on advanced use of wavelet transform analysis. The proposed technique is experimentally validated. Design/methodology/approach – The proposed approach is based on a combined use of frequency sliding and wavelet transform analysis, to isolate the contribution of the rotor fault components issued from vibration signals in a single frequency band. Investigation of motor current signature and vibration analysis for diagnosing rotor broken bars in double cage induction motors

This paper investigates the detectability of rotor broken bars in double cage induction motors using current signature and vibration analysis techniques. Double cage induction motors are commonly used for applications where successive loaded starts-up are mandatory. Experimental results were performed under healthy and faulty cases, and for different load conditions using each technique. Method for designing PI-type fuzzy controllers for induction motor drives

The paper illustrates a new systematic method for designing PI-type fuzzy controllers for direct field-oriented controlled induction motor drives. First, linear and decoupled models expressing the dynamics of speed, rotor flux, direct and inquadrature stator currents are derived using a nonlinear static compensator and choosing convenient input variables. Then, to guide the dynamics of the above quantities, four conventional PI controllers are designed independently, choosing their bandwidths conveniently. The paper investigates the diagnosis of rotor broken bars in field oriented controlled (FOC) double cage induction motor drives, using current and vibration signature analysis techniques. Charge measurement using an array of Faraday’s Cups on a printed circuit board

Abstract An absolute method of measuring charge is to use a Faraday Cup (FC) principle. This study relates to a novel method of measuring charge on a flat substrate, which is coated with charged powder particles. The substrate consists of an array of FC with different dimensions. The sensor is manufactured using flame-retardant printed circuit board (PCB) technology. The objective of this work is to reduce the charge sharing by developing a grounded shield cup around each conductive cup in the array and accordingly increase cup-to-ground capacitance. The results have confirmed that the improved well shielding would provide a more accurate quantitative charge measurement.

Rotor imbalances induce specific harmonic components in electrical, electromagnetical, and mechanical quantities.
