Cardiopulmonary exercise testing in COVID-19 patients at 3 months follow-up☆

2021

Abstract Background Long-term effects of Coronavirus Disease of 2019 (COVID-19) are of utmost relevance. We aimed to determine: 1) the functional capacity of COVID-19 survivors by cardiopulmonary exercise testing (CPET); 2) the characteristics associated with cardiopulmonary exercise testing (CPET) performance; 3) the safety and tolerability of CPET. Methods We prospectively enrolled consecutive patients with laboratory-confirmed COVID-19 from Azienda Sanitaria Locale 3, Genoa. Three months after hospital discharge a complete clinical evaluation, trans-thoracic echocardiography, CPET, pulmonary function tests, and dominant leg extension (DLE) maximal strength measurement were performed. Acute heart failure due to giant left atrium: remote ECLS implantation for interhospital transfer and bridging to decision

2018

AbstractBackgroundRemote extracorporeal life support (ECLS) implantation and mobile ECLS are increasingly applied to enable the treatment of patients with refractory heart failure at specialized care centers. Giant left atrium (GLA) is a rare cause but may lead to acute and devastating heart failure.Case reportAcute heart failure that gave rise to a prolonged period of out-of-hospital cardiopulmonary resuscitation in a patient who underwent remote ECLS implantation was found to have resulted from a GLA of impressive dimensions. There having no reasonable option for immediate surgical therapy, the patient was successfully bridged to recovery with a view to subsequent heart transplantation.Co…

Active compression-decompression cardiopulmonary resuscitation — Instructor and student manual for teaching and training

1996

In an attempt to standardize the teaching and training of active compression-decompression cardiopulmonary resuscitation (ACD-CPR), a group of leading emergency physicians, cardiologists, anesthesiologists, paramedics and nurses with practical, theoretical, educational, and scientific experience in the subject met in June 1995. The group was called The International Working Group of Teaching and Training Active Compression-Decompression CPR. The group was 'born' as a result of the first International Conference of Active Compression-Decompression CPR held in Copenhagen in March 1995. The following paper describes the background, development and text of and ACD-CPR course manual for both stu…

Pirmreizējas sirds ritma izmaiņas pacientiem pēc atvērtās sirds operācijas

2019

Metodes. Retrospektīvā pētījumā tika atlasīti bērni pēc sirdskaišu korekcijas operācijām, kuri saņēma EM operācijas laikā. Tika analizē…
