Fundamento. La saturación arterial de oxígeno (SaO2) disminuye con la altitud. Objetivo. Conocer qué SaO2 presentan los montañeros sanos durante la ascensión a una montaña de más de 8.000 metros. Método. En una expedición al Gasherbrum II (8.035 m) se midió la SaO2 por pulsioximetría durante la marcha de aproximación, en el campamento base (a la llegada y un mes después), en los campamentos II y III, a 7.500 m durante el ataque y en la cumbre. Resultados. En la marcha de aproximación la SaO2 en Paiyu (3.365 m) fue del 92,9 ± 1,4% y en Gore II (4.250 m) del 85,0 ± 4,3%. Objective: Stereotyped beliefs about schizophrenia are well-established in the society and relatively common among healthcare professionals and students. The aim of this study was to investigate the opinions about the causes, treatment, and outcome of schizophrenia among healthcare students. Method: Undergraduate nursing and psychology students completed selected items of the Opinion on Mental Illness Questionnaire after reading a clinical vignette of undiagnosed schizophrenia. Sexual selection has the potential to contribute to population divergence and speciation. Most studies of sexual selection in Drosophila have concentrated on a single signaling modality, usually either courtship song or cuticular hydrocarbons (CHCs), which can act as contact pheromones. We have examined the relationship between both signal types and reproductive success using F1-3 offspring of wild-collected flies, raised in the lab. AbstractSocially prescribed perfectionism (SPP) has been shown to be a risk factor for parental burnout (Sorkkila & Aunola, 2020). In the present study, we investigated the moderating role of self-esteem in this association. A total of 479 Finnish mothers of infants filled in questionnaires measuring their self-esteem, SPP, and symptoms of parental burnout. The results of structural equation modelling (SEM) showed that mothers’ self-esteem moderated the effect of SPP on parental burnout: Mothers with high self-esteem were at lower risk of showing burnout symptoms even when SPP co-occurred, whereas for mothers with low self-esteem, the effect of SPP on burnout symptoms was further streng…
