Grūtniecība 1.tipa CD pacientēm var noritēt veiksmīgi, ja glikozes līmenis asinīs ir tuvu normas robežai gan plānojot grūtniecību, gan tās laikā. Tādēļ ir svarīgi izprast glikozes metabolisma izmaiņas grūtniecības laikā un to ietekmi uz augļa un mātes veselību, samazinot komplikāciju risku grūtniecības laikā. Pētījuma mērķis bija analizēt ar 1.tipa CD saistītos sarežģījumus grūtniecēm un viņu jaundzimušajiem. Quenching of gA deduced from the β-spectrum shape of 113Cd measured with the COBRA experiment

A dedicated study of the quenching of the weak axial-vector coupling strength gA in nuclear processes has been performed by the COBRA collaboration. This investigation is driven by nuclear model calculations which show that the β-spectrum shape of the fourfold forbidden non-unique decay of 113Cd strongly depends on the effective value of gA. Using an array of CdZnTe semiconductor detectors, 45 independent 113Cd spectra were obtained and interpreted in the context of three nuclear models. The resulting effective mean values are g‾A(ISM)=0.915±0.007, g‾A(MQPM)=0.911±0.013 and g‾A(IBFM-2)=0.955±0.022. Photochemical mineralization of terrigenous DOC to dissolved inorganic carbon in ocean

When terrigenous dissolved organic carbon (tDOC) rich in chromophoric dissolved organic matter (tCDOM) enters the ocean, solar radiation mineralizes it partially into dissolved inorganic carbon (DIC). This study addresses the amount and the rates of DIC photoproduction from tDOC and the area of ocean required to photomineralize tDOC. We collected water samples from 10 major rivers, mixed them with artificial seawater, and irradiated them with simulated solar radiation to measure DIC photoproduction and the photobleaching of tCDOM. 0022-2860; Recent progress in high-resolution non-linear coherent Raman spectroscopy in the gas phase is reviewed. An instrumental spectral resolution of less than 100 MHz can be routinely achieved. It is limited by the convoluted linewidths of the lasers used for excitation and is of particular advantage in the gas phase, where the rotational structure of vibrational bands is to be resolved. Growing number of evidences have suggested that oral fat sensing, mediated by a glycoprotein CD36 (cluster of differentiation 36), plays a significant role in the development of obesity. Indeed, a decreased expression of CD36 in some obese subjects is associated with high dietary fat intake. In the present study, we examined whether an increase in body mass index (BMI) is associated with altered oleic acid lingual detection thresholds and blood lipid profile in young Algerian teenagers (n = 165). Families of piecewise linear maps with constant Lyapunov exponent

We consider families of piecewise linear maps in which the moduli of the two slopes take different values. In some parameter regions, despite the variations in the dynamics, the Lyapunov exponent and the topological entropy remain constant. We provide numerical evidence of this fact and we prove it analytically for some special cases. The mechanism is very different from that of the logistic map and we conjecture that the Lyapunov plateaus reflect arithmetic relations between the slopes.
