Virtual Exchange (VE) is a form of experiential learning that relies heavily on learning-by-doing and reflection. The present study draws on visual data comprising students’ perceptions of critical learning incidents presented under an imaginary magnifying glass. To complete this project-closing reflective activity, the students had to describe a critical moment that they had experienced during VE and present it in a visual form. Mucocutaneous diseases with manifestations in the head and neck region: 24 years of experience in a Dermatology service

This study aimed to evaluate the clinicopathological features of mucocutaneous diseases with manifestation in the head and neck region. A retrospective analysis of a dermatology reference center database was carried out. Over 24 years. Clinicopathological data were collected from medical records and the data was analyzed by descriptive statistics. A total of 11.538 medical records were analyzed, being 152 cases of mucocutaneous diseases with manifestations in the head and neck region. Cutaneous lupus erythematosus was the most prevalent diagnosis (66.4%). Face (44.1%), females (79.6%), and patients with 45 years mean age were the most common features. A fluorescent analogue of abscisic acid has been prepared by combining (S)‐abscisic acid (ABA) with nitrobenzoxadiazole (NBD) fluorophore using ethanol amine as a linker. Isomerization of the double bond at the side chain of abscisic acid happened during the synthesis. The resulting fluorophore analogues derived from both isomeric compounds entered cells suggesting a wide applicability of the ABA‐NBD conjugates as fluorescent probes to study ABA mechanism of action. Stereoselective aldol reaction catalyzed by a highly recyclable polystyrene supported substituted prolinamide catalyst

Polystyrene supported substituted prolinamide was used as catalyst in the aldol reaction between cyclohexanone or acetone and several substituted benzaldehydes in chloroform/water. This catalyst afforded aldol products in high yields and stereoselectivities, especially in the case of reactions performed with acetone. The catalyst was easily recovered by filtration and reused, after regeneration with formic acid, up to 22 times.

Structure ofD-ribonic acid-dimethyltin(IV) in coordinating solvents: an experimental and DFT119Sn NMR study

We have investigated a newly synthesized complex of D-ribonic acid with dimethyltin(IV). The structure of the complex in solution has been characterized by means of 1 H, 13 C, and 119 Sn NMR and by DFT calculations. The comparison of experimental and computational results allowed the determination of the stable conformation in solution as well as the detection of a dimerization process. Moreover, evidence is given of active coordination of the metal by the solvent.

International audience; We report that the cationic phosphidozirconocene complex [(eta(5)-C5H5)(2)Zr(PCy2)][CH3B(C6F5)(3)] (II) reacts with azobenzene, resulting in the expedient formation of Zr complex (2) bound to a tridentate PNN ligand. This reaction proceeds by a mechanism of cooperative nucleophilic substitution of hydrogen. The intermediate sigma(H) adduct (1) has been characterized by NMR spectroscopy.
