Omicidio e lesioni personali stradali
2018
Oreste a Roma. Fra teatro e retorica
2015
From Rhetorica ad Herennium and Cicero’s works until Quintilian’s Institutio oratoria and beyond, there are many retaking of the Orestes tragic history and its famous matricide. This is what confirms the well-known relevance of the theatre, in particular tragic, as a global pattern to which rhetoric and oratory frequently turn. The case of Orestes, between theatrical stage and forum from the Aeschylean Eumenides, becomes a very peculiar moment in the history of Latin eloquence: the dubious events of the young matricide will be a regular feature in all the rhetorical manuals subsequent
COMPARATIVE ULTRASTRUCTURAL INVESTIGATION ON THE ADHESIVE PAPILLAE OF THE SWIMMING LARVAE OF THREE ASCIDIAE SPECIES
2008
Ascidian swimming larvae bear three peculiar organs of ectodermic origin, named “palps” or adhesive papillae, located in the anterior region of cephalenteron. Term “adhesive” is correlated to one of the function of these structure based on secretion of an adhesive substance which enables swimming larvae to adhere to a substratum. Recently a sensory function has also been described in some Phlebobranchia papillae with a simple morpho-functional organization. There are few ultrastructural investigations in literature, sometimes disputed, able to make clear papillae cells functions. To clarify this problem, a comparative investigation has been carried out, just in this work, about ultrastructu…
Combination of multiplex PCR and PCR-DGGE for monitoring common sourdough-associated Lactobacillus species
2006
A combination of denaturing gradient gel electrophoresis (DGGE) and a previously described multiplex PCR approach was employed to detect sourdough lactobacilli. Primers specific for certain groups of Lactobacillus spp. were used to amplify fragments, which were analyzed by DGGE. DGGE profiles obtained from Lactobacillus type strains acted as standards to analyze lactobacilli from four regional Abruzzo (central Italy) sourdoughs.

Metazoan calcium carbonate biomineralizations: macroevolutionary trends – challenges for the coming decade
2014
AbstractCalcium carbonate-based biominerals, also referred as biocalcifications, are the most abundant biogenic mineralized products at the surface of the Earth. In this paper, we summarize general concepts on biocalcifications and we sketch macro-evolutionary trends throughout the history of the Earth, from Archean to Phanerozoic times. Then, we expose five fundamental issues that represent key-challenges in biocalcification researches for the coming decade: the first one concerns the comprehension of the micro- and nano-structure of calcium carbonate biominerals from a mineral viewpoint, while the second one deals with the understanding of the dynamic process of their fabrication. The thi…
Development of conservation methods for the restoration of paper materials
Paper, one of the most common materials of Cultural Heritage, undergoes serious deterioration caused by physical, chemical and biological factors. One of the main causes of deterioration is the acidic and/or oxidative environment. The studies of deterioration and conservation of paper have been increasing and require further development of methods and treatments that can stabilize and strengthen the paper. Various conservation treatments are being applied to model and to historical paper by using different chemicals methods. Their effectiveness for conservation and restoration are under study. Internal and external factors degrade the paper by promoting various reaction pathways. The two mo…
