È stato effettuato uno studio di caso ispirato ai principi pedagogici della prospettiva Student Voice. Venticinque studenti universitari hanno partecipato, tra il mese di novembre 2015 e il mese di febbraio 2016, a due attività formative: tre sessioni di scrittura espressiva e quattro colloqui individuali di peer-tutoring. Our study aimed to investigate the patterns of children’s relationships with their parents and teachers, the development of these relationships during Grade 1, and respective links to children’s learning (in task persistence and performance). Parents of 350 children answered questionnaires about the quality of their relationships with their children; 25 teachers answered questions about children’s task persistence at school and the quality of their relationships with their students; 350 children completed literacy and math performance tests; and six testers evaluated children’s task persistence when completing those tests. This study aimed to investigate the developmental dynamics between children's mathematical performance, the task-focused versus task-avoidant behaviours they show in the classroom, and their parents' beliefs concerning their school competence. The mathematical performance of 111 six- to seven-year-old children was tested, and their task-focused versus task-avoidant behaviours were rated by their teachers four times during their first school year. Parents filled in questionnaires measuring their skill-specific and general beliefs about their children's school competencies at the beginning and at the end of the school year. Early Health, Risk Aversion and Stock Market Participation

To examine the relationship between early health status and financial decisions in adulthood, we link information on birth weight in 1966 from the Northern Finland Birth Cohort to data from the Finnish Central Securities Depository over the period of 19952010. We find that persons predisposed to poor health status in early childhood (indicated by low birth weight) avoid participating in the stock market in adulthood. The link between birth weight and stock market participation is partially explained by the fact that poor early health status leads to risk aversion. In this paper, the stability of a simply supported axially moving elastic panel is considered. A complex variable technique and bifurcation theory are applied. As a result, variational equations and a variational principle are derived. Anal- ysis of the variational principle allows the study of qualitative properties of the bifurcation points. Asymptotic behaviour in a small neighbourhood around an arbitrary bifurcation point is analyzed and presented. It is shown analytically that the eigenvalue curves in the (ω, V0) plane cross both the ω and V0 axes perpendicularly.
