Spiders of the families Thomisidae and Philodromidae (Arachnida, Araneae) mainly collected in the mountainous areas of Iran in 1978 are taxonomically studied and classified into 21 species of 10 genera. Most species are illustrated and described on the basis of the present specimens. Except for only two species, Xysticus kulczynskii Wierzbicki 1902 and Synaema globosum (Fabricius 1775), already known from this country, 19 species are new records to the Iranian fauna. Penelitian ini mengkombinasikan tanaman Hydrilla verticillata dengan Ceratophyllum demersum sebagai filter pada budidaya ikan Nila sistem resirkulasi. Tujuan penelitian yaitu untuk mengetahui tingkat pertumbuhan ikan Nila pada budidaya sistem resirkulasi. Objective: The purpose of this study was to determine the antibacterial effect of a newly developed haemostatic agent Ankaferd Blood Stopper® (ABS) and Ferric Sulphate (FS) on various oral microorganisms. Study design: Bacterial strains were freshly incubated in their specific broth media. For each of the strains, 3 wells per each agent, with a 5 mm diameter were made under aseptic conditions in the specific agar media. The aim of this study was to develop a system for rapid and accurate real-time quantitative PCR (qPCR) identification and quantification of Botrytis cinerea , one of the major pathogens present on grapes. The intergenic spacer (IGS) region of the nuclear ribosomal DNA was used to specifically detect and quantify B. cinerea . A standard curve was established to quantify this fungus. SummaryThis paper reports on protocols for in vitro plant regeneration, gene transfer and on shoot salt tolerance from two accessions of L. cheesmanii (Riley). Shoot organogenesis was achieved on media with zeatin or BA/IAA combinations. The two accessions tested, LA1401 and LA530, showed differences in both their aptitude to regenerate and their salt tolerance in vitro. The accession LA530 had a higher organogenic potential than LA1401 (97% vs. 80% of organogenic explants). A review and species key to TrictenotomaGray, 1832 (Trictenotomidae Blanchard, 1845) from the Indochina bioregion, mainland Southeast Asia, is presented for the first time. Adults of Trictenotoma childreniGray, 1832, T. davidi Deyrolle, 1875 and T. mouhoti Deyrolle, 1875 are redescribed. Trictenotoma pollockisp. nov. from southern Vietnam is described and illustrated. A lectotype is designated for T. mouhoti Deyrolle, 1875.

Coffee is one of the most consumed beverages around the world, and as a consequence, spent coffee grounds are a massively produced residue that is causing environmental problems. Reusing them is a major focus of interest presently. We extracted mannooligosaccharides (MOS) from spent coffee grounds and submitted them to an in vitro fermentation with human feces. Results obtained suggest that MOS are able to exert a prebiotic effect on gut microbiota by stimulating the growth of some beneficial genera, such as Barnesiella, Odoribacter, Coprococcus, Butyricicoccus, Intestinimonas, Pseudoflavonifractor, and Veillonella. The paper presents a community of water plants that is new to Poland, <em>Veronico beccabungae-Callitrichetum</em> stagnalis (Oberd. 1957) Müller 1962. This community belongs to the class <em>Potametea</em>. It was discovered in the village of Odrowąż near the town of Krapkowice in Silesia (SW Poland). <em>Veronico beccabungae-Callitrichetum stagnalis</em> in Poland occurs within an irregularly shaped shallow underwater spring, located in the distal part of the Oder River’s flood terrace.
