Läßt sich das sonomorphologische Lymphknotenstaging bei Kopf-Hals-Karzinomen automatisieren?
2000
OBJECTIVES B-scan ultrasound imaging is an obligatory examination of great clinical relevance in patients with head and neck cancer. The procedure, however, is dependent on an experienced examiner and thus requires higher personal resources than other examination techniques. In addition, its subjective character leads to possible deficits in reliability and objectivity. Established sonomorphologic criteria (echo-contour, echo-density, echo-structure, boundary) should therefore be matched to the findings of computer aided sonomorphometry. METHOD 200 sonographic images of the cervical region of patients with oral carcinoma were analysed semi- and fully automatically as well as interactively b…

Transpupillare Thermotherapie (TTT) zur Behandlung von Aderhautmetastasen
2001

Communicating with the hepatobiliary surgeon through structured report
2019
Communicating radiological findings to hepatobiliary surgeons is not an easy task due to the complexity of liver imaging, coexistence of multiple hepatic lesions and different surgical treatment options. Recently, the adoption and implementation of structured report in everyday clinical practice has been supported to achieve higher quality, more reproducibility in communication and closer adherence to current guidelines. In this review article, we will illustrate the main benefits, strengths and limitations of structured reporting, with particular attention on the advantages and challenges of structured template in the preoperative evaluation of cirrhotic and non-cirrhotic patients with fo…

Somatostatin-Rezeptor-Szintigraphie bei endokriner Orbitopathie
1994
Somatostatin receptor scintigraphy with 111In-labeled octreotide proves to be a very sensitive diagnostic tool for evaluation of inflammative activity in endocrine ophthalmopathy (EO). The results of somatostatin receptor scintigraphy (SRS) in 40 patients with EO show a high orbital accumulation of 111In-octreotide in clinically active EO (4 h-median/orbit-brain-ratio: 12.6; controls 4 h-median: 5.8) Patients with clinically inactive EO (4 h-median: 7.1) show a similar orbital accumulation of radioactivity compared to controls. 5 patients with active orbital myositis also revealed an even higher orbital accumulation of radioactivity (4 h-median: 42.3). The diagnostic value of SRS lies in it…
Right ventricular volume determination in isolated human hearts
1986
For right ventricular volume determination a new method was developed that took into account right ventricular imaging by apical two-dimensional echocardiography in the four- and two-chamber views. Right ventricular volume was calculated by subtraction of the partial volume of the left ventricle and interventricular septum from the total heart volume of the right and left ventricles including the interventricular septum. Accuracy of the subtraction method was evaluated in isolated human hearts by two-dimensional echocardiography and radiography. Regression analysis indicated that for both the echocardiographic and radiologic procedures, the subtraction method gave the best correlation with …
