Analysis of double-beta transitions in 78^Kr

2013

In this paper a comprehensive theoretical analysis of the two-neutrino (2ν2β) and neutrinoless (0ν2β) doublebeta decays of 78Kr is performed by evaluating the corresponding nuclear matrix elements by combining the quasiparticle random-phase approximation with the multiple-commutator model. Transitions to the ground state 0+ gs and 0+ and 2+ excited states in 78Se are investigated by using G-matrix-based nuclear forces. The channels β+β+, β+EC, and ECEC are discussed for the 2ν2β decays and the channels β+β+ and β+EC for the 0ν2β decays. The associated half-lives are computed to see if the detection of some of these transitions is experimentally feasible. peerReviewed

Neutrinoless double beta-plus/EC decays

2013

The relation of neutrino masses to neutrino oscillations and the nuclear double beta decay is highlighted. In particular, the neutrinoless 𝛽+ 𝛽+, 𝛽+EC, and resonant ECEC decays are investigated using microscopic nuclear models. Transitions to the ground state and excited 0+ states are analyzed. Systematics of the related nuclear matrix elements are studied and the present status of the resonant ECEC decays is reviewed. peerReviewed

Theoretical predictions of wimp-nucleus and neutrino-nucleus scattering in context of dark matter direct detection

2018

The nature of dark matter is at present an open question. Assuming the main component of dark matter consists of weakly interacting massive particles (WIMPs), directly detecting such particle via a scattering process with an atomic nucleus would be a strong probe into properties of dark matter. So far direct detection experiments have not provided a conclusive signal of dark matter. Traditionally the experiments aim to detect a coherent, spin- independent, elastic scattering signal which is enhanced by the square of the nuclear mass number. If the coherent channel is for some reason suppressed for WIMP-nucleus interactions, then spin-dependent interactions become important. In this thesis w…

Pressure-Dependent Tuning of Photoluminescence and Size Distribution of Carbon Nanodots for Theranostic Anticancer Applications

2020

Carbon nanodots (CDs) have recently attracted attention in the field of nanomedicine because of the biocompatibility, cost-effective nature, high specific surface, good near infrared (NIR) photothermal conversion into heat and tunable fluorescence properties, which have paved the way toward incorporating use of CDs into innovative anticancer theranostic platforms. However, a reliable synthesis of CDs with established and controlled physiochemical proprieties is precluded owing to the lack of full manipulation of thermodynamic parameters during the synthesis, thus limiting their use in real world medical applications. Herein, we developed a robust solvothermal protocol which allow fine contr…

El edificio gremial de los abaixadors o tundidores, en Valencia

2020

In the ?barri del mercat?, in the city of Valencia and very close to its Lonja, there is a building complex which is the object of this study. The research, carried out from the simple field of toponymy, to the constructive analysis, lead us to suppose that it is the building of the Valencian trade union of cloth-shearers. It can be seen how the building now camouflaged by other subsequent interventions, corresponds to a type that cannot be related to those usually built in the city of Valencia. Its origins clearly from the Valencian self-governing period splendor, its dimensions and the finishes used in its construction seem to refer to a medieval workshop. Quasiparticle properties of nonequilibrium gluon plasma

2018

We apply classical gluodynamics to early stages of ultrarelativistic heavy-ion collisions. We start by giving a brief overview of QCD. Then we proceed to the space-time evolution of ultrarelativistic heavy-ion collisions in the color glass condensate framework and go through the basics of real-time gluodynamics on the lattice in the temporal gauge. We study the plasmon mass scale in three- and two-dimensional systems by comparing three different methods to measure the mass scale. The methods are a formula which can be derived from Hard Thermal Loop effective theory at leading order (HTL), the effective dispersion relation (DR) and measurement of the plasma oscillation frequency triggered by th…

Crystal structure and Hirshfeld surface analysis of (Z)-4-chloro-N′-(4-oxothiazolidin-2-ylidene)benzenesulfonohydrazide monohydrate

2018

The asymmetric unit of the title thiazole derivative containing a sulfonylhydrazinic moiety, C9H8ClN3O3S2·H2O, consists of two independent molecules and two water molecules. The central parts of the molecules are twisted as both the molecules are bent at both the S and N atoms. In the crystal, N—H...N, N—H...O, C—H...O and O—H...O hydrogen-bonding interactions connect the molecules, forming layers parallel to the ab plane. Two-dimensional fingerprint plots associated with the Hirshfeld surface show that the largest contributions to the crystal packing come from O...H/H...O (32.9%) and H...H (22.6%) interactions.

Thrombolysis Followed by Apixaban for Massive Pulmonary Embolism and Free-floating Thrombus in Right Ventricle in a Patient with Breast Cancer

2018

Free-floating thrombus in the right ventricle, associated with a massive acute pulmonary embolism (PE), is a rare phenomenon. PE is an important clinical entity with considerable mortality despite advances in diagnosis and treatment. The prognosis of PE depends on right ventricular dysfunction, myocardial injury markers, and early treatment. In this report, we present the case of a 71-year-old woman with a history of breast cancer admitted to intensive care unit for PE complicated by syncope. Although our case may seem complex because it is not represented in the guidelines, the result was satisfactory and showed how treatment with new anticoagulants (in this case apixaban) after massive th…
