The quest for a spin-polarized organic light-emitting diode (spin-OLED) is a common goal in the emerging fields of molecular electronics and spintronics. In this device, two ferromagnetic (FM) electrodes are used to enhance the electroluminescence intensity of the OLED through a magnetic control of the spin polarization of the injected carriers. The major difficulty is that the driving voltage of an OLED device exceeds a few volts, while spin injection in organic materials is only efficient at low voltages. Per celebrare l’Unità d’Italia nel suo 150° ha preso il via da Palermo al Real Albergo delle Povere una mostra voluta dal Ministero per lo Sviuppo. Negli obiettivi, la volontà di realizzare una mostra che, non solo itinerante, applicasse l’uso di tecnologie innovative, sia removibili sia reversibili. Oggetto del presente contributo è chiarire come sin dal progetto sia possibile definire, attraverso l’uso appropriato della tecnologia a secco, ambienti, spazi e scenari adattabili di volta in volta a luoghi diversi. A Palermo il test della mostra ’900 ha dimostrato l’efficacia realizzativa potendo poi la stessa esser trasportata in altre città internazionali senza lo spreco di un solo elemento.

: In this study, the soil effect on the micro-component composition of Nero d'Avola wines obtained from different locations was investigated through 1H NMR-based metabolomics. Two different approaches were applied: the targeted (TA) and the non-targeted one (NTA). The former differentiated the wines by profiling (i.e., by identifying and quantifying) a number of different metabolites. The latter provided wine fingerprinting by processing the entire spectra with multivariate statistical analysis. Hydrothermal liquefaction of municipal sludge in sub- and super- critical water

Hydrothermal liquefaction of municipal sludge was conducted to investigate the effects of sub- and supercritical water and of the fluid dynamic regime on the quality of the products. Preliminary experimental runs were performed at two different temperatures (350°C and 400°C) changing reaction time in order to work at fixed kinetic severity of the process. An improvement of the C content in the solid residues and of the ratio H/C of the biocrude was obtained when a stirred reactor was used both in sub- and supercritical water.
