Incremental elastoplastic analysis for active macro-zones

SUMMARY In this paper a strategy to perform incremental elastoplastic analysis using the symmetric Galerkin boundary element method for multidomain type problems is shown. The discretization of the body is performed through substructures, distinguishing the bem-elements characterizing the so-called active macro-zones, where the plastic consistency condition may be violated, and the macro-elements having elastic behaviour only. Convergence of a finite volume scheme for the compressible Navier–Stokes system

We study convergence of a finite volume scheme for the compressible (barotropic) Navier–Stokes system. First we prove the energy stability and consistency of the scheme and show that the numerical solutions generate a dissipative measure-valued solution of the system. Then by the dissipative measure-valued-strong uniqueness principle, we conclude the convergence of the numerical solution to the strong solution as long as the latter exists. Numerical experiments for standard benchmark tests support our theoretical results.

Communication: Restoring full size extensivity in internally contracted multireference coupled cluster theory.

The reason for the lack of size extensivity in the valence space in current implementations of internally contracted multireference coupled cluster theories is the procedure used to eliminate redundant components from the cluster operator. We present a simple way to restore full size extensivity by performing this critical step in a basis of excitation operators that are normal ordered with respect to the multiconfigurational reference function.

Comparing equilibration schemes of high-molecular-weight polymer melts with topological indicators.

Abstract Recent theoretical studies have demonstrated that the behaviour of molecular knots is a sensitive indicator of polymer structure. Here, we use knots to verify the ability of two state-of-the-art algorithms—configuration assembly and hierarchical backmapping—to equilibrate high-molecular-weight (MW) polymer melts. Specifically, we consider melts with MWs equivalent to several tens of entanglement lengths and various chain flexibilities, generated with both strategies.
