Synthesis and evaluation of (S)-2-(2-[18F]fluoroethoxy)-4-([3-methyl-1-(2-piperidin-1-yl-phenyl)-butyl-carbamoyl]-methyl)-benzoic acid ([18F]repaglin…

2004

18F-labeled non-sulfonylurea hypoglycemic agent (S)-2-(2-[(18)F]fluoroethoxy)-4-((3-methyl-1-(2-piperidin-1-yl-phenyl)-butylcarbamoyl)-methyl)-benzoic acid ([(18)F]repaglinide), a derivative of the sulfonylurea-receptor (SUR) ligand repaglinide, was synthesized as a potential tracer for the non-invasive investigation of the sulfonylurea 1 receptor status of pancreatic beta-cells by positron emission tomography (PET) in the context of type 1 and type 2 diabetes. [(18)F]Repaglinide could be obtained in an overall radiochemical yield (RCY) of 20% after 135 min with a radiochemical purity higher than 98% applying the secondary labeling precursor 2-[(18)F]fluoroethyltosylate. Performance evaluation of a high resolution dedicated breast PET scanner

2016

Purpose: Early stage breast cancers may not be visible on a whole-body PET scan. To overcome whole-body PET limitations, several dedicated breast positron emission tomography (DbPET) systems have emerged nowadays aiming to improve spatial resolution. In this work the authors evaluate the performance of a high resolution dedicated breast PET scanner (Mammi-PET, Oncovision). Methods: Global status, uniformity, sensitivity, energy, and spatial resolution were measured. Spheres of different sizes (2.5, 4, 5, and 6 mm diameter) and various 18 fluorodeoxyglucose (18F-FDG) activity concentrations were randomly inserted in a gelatine breast phantom developed at our institution. Several lesion-to-ba…

Flux growth at 1230 °C of cubic Tb2O3 single crystals and characterization of their optical and magnetic properties

2015

International audience; In this work, we present the first crystal growth of cubic Tb2O3 single crystals by a controlled atmosphere flux method which uses a heavy metal free solvent working at less than half the melting temperature of this sesquioxide. Cubic millimeter-sized crystals extracted from as-grown boules are phase (powder XRD) and chemically (GDMS) pure and exhibit a Verdet constant in the visible and near-infrared spectral ranges, which is at least three times higher than that of a commercial Tb3Ga5O12 (TGG) crystal. The 1.36 mm thick crystals display a transmission coefficient higher than 77% over the 525 nm–1.38 μm spectral range. The absorption spectrum, magnetic susceptibilit…

Forms of Animality: The Dog

2018

Animals are not the object of zoosemiotics as discussed here, neither is their language nor any other system of signs that affects them directly as living creatures that communicate, but the forms of animality, forms through which the concept of animal itself is socially constructed and transformed over time. Now, if there is one place in which such forms are plain to see, it is in those areas that focus on their nutrition. Looking at feeding animals as a semiotic activity, this paper wants to focus on what I call a nutritional pact, an implicit agreement that binds humans and animals, and that is being continuously negotiated by cultures. A relationship that advertising deeply contributes …

Teaching Language Engineering Using MPS

2021

At universities, computer language handling is most often taught with a focus on compiler theory. However, in practical applications, domain-specific languages (DSLs) are much more important. DSLs implement model-driven technology in an understandable way, as models can be expressed easily using DSLs. One interesting domain for DSLs in this context is language handling itself, and many current tools for language handling are model-driven and based on meta-models. This chapter connects compiler theory and meta-modelling within a university course about language handling. The course features the relevant theory and uses MPS as a practical tool. We show how MPS is used in the course and discus…

Sea Surface Temperatures and Paleoenvironmental Variability in the Central Mediterranean During Historical Times Reconstructed Using Planktonic Foram…

2019

The ongoing anthropogenic‐induced warming assessment requires a robust background from regional sea surface temperature (SST) reconstructions. Planktonic foraminifera have yielded valuable insights into late Quaternary SST dynamics, but the techniques to estimate SST from fossil assemblages have only rarely been used in very recent sedimentary records (the last 2,000 years). Here we use two transfer function methods, modern analog technique and artificial neural networks, to reconstruct SST variability in two cores from the Central Mediterranean Sea that span the last five centuries. Both cores show similar and considerable changes in the planktonic foraminifera assemblages. However, the in…

Analytic CCSD(T) second derivatives

1997

A general-purpose implementation of analytic CCSD(T) second derivatives is presented. Its applicability is demonstrated by calculations of vibration-rotation interaction constants for the astrophysically important molecule cyclopropenylidene (C3H2) in which the required cubic force constants have been determined by numerical differentiation of analytically evaluated second derivatives of the energy.

Vibrational spectra and force constants of symmetric tops

1983

The infrared spectrum of H3SiI in the 800–1050 cm-1 region has been recorded with a resolution of 0·04 cm-1 and rotationally analysed. Features related to the Fermi resonance between v 5 and v 3 + v 6 and to the Coriolis x, y resonance between v 2 and v 5 have been explained, and a set of vibration-rotation parameters for the three bands has been determined by least-squares calculations, σ(J, K) = 9·4 × 10-3 cm-1. The Fermi resonance matrix element |W 356| is found to be 3·7859(7) cm-1 and the vibrational frequencies are v 2 0 = 904·551(1), v 5 0 = 941·0746(8) and (v 3 + v 6)0 = 953·688(3) cm-1. The anharmonicity constant, x 36 = -1·745(9) cm-1, has been determined. Comparison is made with …
