Domain-Driven Reuse of Software Design Models

This chapter presents an approach to software development where model driven development and software reuse facilities are combined in a natural way. The basis for all of this is a semiformal requirements language RSL. The requirements in RSL consist of use cases refined by scenarios in a simple controlled natural language and the domain vocabulary containing the domain concepts. The chapter shows how model transformations building a platform independent model (PIM) can be applied directly to the requirements specified in RSL by domain experts. Use of the software ‘Poser4’ in reconstruction of accident and crime scenes

The reconstruction of accident and crime scenes demands the full attention of the forensic working physician. Description by words is often difficult and liable to be misunderstood. Reconstruction in the original places of events are expensive and in some cases impossible. Computer graphics and animations give the possibility to construct the original course of events. Poser4 is a software package to perform these reconstructions in an easy and vivid way. We investigated the possibilities of reconstructing an accident with this software.
A Viscoelastic Model for the Long-Term Deflection of Segmental Prestressed Box Girders

Most of segmental prestressed concrete box girders exhibit excessive multidecade deflections unforeseeable by past and current design codes. To investigate such a behavior, mainly caused by creep and shrinkage phenomena, an effective finite element (FE) formulation is presented in this article. This formulation is developed by invoking the stationarity of an energetic principle for linear viscoelastic problems and relies on the Bazant creep constitutive law. The accessibility of inexpensive and powerful computers has allowed true digital holography to be used for industrial inspection using microscopy. This technique allows the capture of a complex image (i.e., one containing magnitude and phase), and the reconstruction of the phase and magnitude information. Digital holograms give a new dimension to texture analysis, since the topology information can be used as an additional way to extract features. Extended Depth-of-Field 3-D Display and Visualization by Combination of Amplitude-Modulated Microlenses and Deconvolution Tools

One of the main challenges in 3-D display and visualization is to overcome its limited depth of field. Such limitation is due to the fast deterioration of lateral resolution for out-of-focus object positions. Here we propose a new method to significantly extend the depth of field. The method is based on the combined benefits of a proper amplitude modulation of the microlenses, and the application of deconvolution tools. Numerical tests are presented to verify the theoretical analysis.

Novel constant current driver for ISFET/MEMFETs characterization

Abstract In the present work a new constant current driver for ISFETs and MEMFETs sensors has been developed. The proposed circuit maintains the ISFET/MEMFET operation point at constant drain–source current and voltage. The combination of some programmable current sources and an appropriate selection of a simple precision resistor allow a good ISFET/MEMFET polarization. The use of operational amplifiers with low offset and drift are required to provide the buffering function needed by the sensor.

SUMMARY This paper aims at validating the feasibility of an identification procedure, based on the use of the Hilbert transform, by means of experimental tests for shear-type multi-degree-of-freedom systems.
