In this article, the synthesis by means of the spray pyrolysis method, of the CaMoO4 and rare-earth cation (RE3+)-doped CaMoO4:xRE3+ (RE3+ = Eu3+, Tb3+, and Tm3+; and x = 1, 2, and 4% mol) compounds, is presented. The as-synthesized samples were characterized using X-ray diffraction, Rietveld refinement, field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM), Raman spectroscopy, and photoluminescence (PL) spectroscopy. In this paper an original thermoeconomic approach for the optimization of complex energy systems is presented, based on a revitalized concept of “scope”, and therefore indicated as Scope Oriented Thermoeconomics (SOT). In plants including dissipative components, it allows to formulate non-arbitrary allocation criteria as concerns marginal costs; consequently, the optimization process is disassembled to recognize the Formation Structure of Optimality, i.e. the specific influences of thermodynamic and economic parameters in the path toward the optimal design. Periscope endograft technique to revascularize the left subclavian artery during thoracic endovascular aortic repair.

Purpose: To present early and midterm results of the periscope endograft (PG) technique to maintain left subclavian artery (LSA) blood flow in thoracic endovascular aortic repairs (TEVAR) involving zone 3. Methods: From April 2010 to January 2013, 14 consecutive high-risk patients (11 men; mean age 7068 years, range 56–87) underwent TEVAR with the PG technique for 10 thoracic aortic aneurysms (TAA), 2 traumatic aortic ruptures, and 2 aortic dissections without a suitable landing zone (.2 cm distal to the LSA). The issue about enhancement, fruition and management of manufacturing settlements, obsolete in relation with technological developments is not new and stands still at the centre of a heated debate, full of causes for reflection. Buildings assigned to fishing, processing and conservation of tuna (called tonnare) are emblematic. Process of decay involved Castellammare territory, in Sicily, wich is characterized by the presence of many artefacts.
