QCD NLO with Powheg matching and top threshold matching in WHIZARD

We present the status of the automation of NLO processes within the event generator WHIZARD. The program provides an automated FKS subtraction and phase space integration over the FKS regions, while the (QCD) NLO matrix element is accessed via the Binoth Les Houches Interface from an externally linked one-loop program. Massless and massive test cases and validation are shown for several e+e- processes. Furthermore, we discuss work in progress and future plans. The second part covers the matching of the NRQCD prediction with NLL threshold resummation to the NLO continuum top pair production at lepton colliders. The present article argues for a conceptual distinction between corrective feedback and mediation that emphasizes the status of the latter not as an instructional practice but as a defining feature of human psychology (Vygotsky, 1987) that has direct implications for how instruction might be approached. Specifically, Sociocultural Theory (SCT) posits that humans are always and everywhere mediated, as individuals draw upon meanings and ways of thinking they have already internalized as well as those that are available in their immediate environment to regulate their actions. The last excavation (2004-2006) in the eastern necropolis of Polizzello (CL) allowed to complete the excavation of this important funerary area and to discover a grave (No 2/2004) containing over 100 dead children. It represents a privileged observatory for the study of childhood in the indigenous world of Sicily. The structure of the tomb, the relative and absolute chronology, the composition of the kit with its symbolic value and the mode of deposition of the buried are analyzed, thanks to the data of the stratigraphic excavation. Helical liquids have been experimentally detected in both nanowires and ultracold atomic chains as the result of strong spin-orbit interactions. In both cases the inner degrees of freedom can be considered as an additional space dimension, providing an interpretation of these systems as synthetic ladders, with artificial magnetic fluxes determined by the spin-orbit terms. In this work, we characterize the helical state which appears at filling $\nu=1/2$: this state is generated by a gap arising in the spin sector of the corresponding Luttinger liquid and it can be interpreted as the one-dimensional (1D) limit of a fractional quantum Hall state of bosonic pairs of fermions. Topological insulators (TIs) are exciting materials, which exhibit unprecedented properties, such as helical spinmomentum locking, which leads to large torques for magnetic switching and highly efficient spin current detection. Calibration of a small anode germanium well detector

SAGe kolokiteen kalibroinnit suoritettiin kolmelle näytegeometrialle. Kaksi geometrioista oli sylinterin muotoisia purkkeja, jotka mitattiin ilmaisimen päällä ja yksi koeputki, joka mitattiin kolon sisällä. Piikkitehokkuuskalibrointi tehtiin NPL:sta tilattujen sertifioitujen näytteiden avulla. Yksinuklidinäytteitä valmistettiin radioaktiivisista liuoksista totaalitehokkuuskalibrointia varten. Totaalitehokkuuskäyrä saatiin simuloimalla totaalitehokkuudet MCNP:llä ja sovittamalla malli vastaamaan kokeellisia tuloksia. Kalibraatiot tehtiin energiavälille 30 keV–1.9 MeV. Le modifiche apportate al delitto di traffico d’influenze illecite ad opera della legge n. 3/2019 hanno accentuato il deficit di determinatezza che già caratterizzava la fattispecie sin dalla sua introduzione, delineando un modello di incriminazione incapace di selezionare le condotte di intermediazione penalmente rilevanti distinguendole dalla attività di lobbying consentita. This paper looks at the rich, and largely unexplored, correspondence of Jan Józef Baranowski, an insurgent in the November Uprising, a refugee in France and England, an accomplished inventor and the author of a two-volume bilingual dictionary (Anglo-Polish lexicon, 1883; Słownik polsko-angielski, 1884). Baranowski’s letters, primarily those addressed to Leonard Niedźwiedzki, allow one to investigate both his lexicographic conceptions and working methods. As it has turned out, the design of his dictionary was innovative, but Baranowski had experience neither in lexicography nor foreign language teaching.
