The crater lake of Ilamatepec (Santa Ana) volcano, El Salvador: insights into lake gas composition and implications for monitoring

We here present the first chemical characterization of the volcanic gas plume issuing from the Santa Ana crater lake, a hyper-acidic crater lake (pH of − 0.2 to 2.5) in north-western El Salvador. Our results, obtained during regular surveys in 2017 and 2018 using a Multi-GAS instrument, demonstrate a hydrous gas composition (H2O/SO2 ratios from 32 to 205) and SO2 as the main sulfur species (H2S/SO2 = 0.03–0.1). We also find that gas composition evolved during our investigated period, with the CO2/SO2 ratio decreasing by one order of magnitude from March 2017 (37.2 ± 9.7) to November 2018 (< 3). Can we increase children’s rights endorsement and knowledge?: A pilot study based on the reference framework of competences for democratic culture

This pilot study is the first to examine whether a novel curriculum based on the Reference Framework of Competences for Democratic Culture (RFCDC) could increase children’s endorsement and knowledge of children’s rights. We conducted a pre-test-post-test design with an intervention and a comparison school. Pupils (n = 172) from Bulgaria, Italy, Norway, Romania, and Spain attended schools in which the curriculum was taught, whereas pupils in the comparison group (n = 120) attended schools in the same city where the curriculum was not taught. El presente estudio pretende resolver la controversia en torno a la identidad y procedencia del poeta Filóxeno, célebre ditirambógrafo del siglo V-IV a.C. Para ello, hemos recopilado todos los testimonios que citan a personajes con el nombre de Filóxeno desde la primera mención de Aristófanes. La investigación ha revelado que existen varios individuos con el mismo nombre y rasgos comunes. No obstante, el examen de estos testimonios revela la existencia de un único autor de ditirambos: Filóxeno de Citera. Pieaugošā sociālā vajadzība noteikt darbinieku labklājību par prioritāti prasa pragmatisku veidu, kā panākt labāku demokrātiju darba vietā mūsdienu kapitāla uzkrāšanas laikmeta robežās. Pētījuma mērķis ir izstrādāt priekšlikumus demokrātijas uzlabošanai darba vietā, izmantojot teledarba politiku. Rezultāts ir priekšlikumu kopums, kuru mērķis ir uzlabot demokrātiju darba vietā, izmantojot atbilstošu tāldarba politiku, vienlaikus uzlabojot darbinieku labklājību. Procesā netika atrasta statistiski nozīmīga saikne starp subjektīvo autonomiju, atbildību un sniegumu. Tālāk autore izstrādāja provizorisku teorētisku ietvaru, kurā darba demokrātija ir apvienota ar tāldarbu.
