Problem To evaluate the inflammatory pattern in maternal circulation from women with preterm premature rupture of membranes (PPROM) considering the occurrence of histologically confirmed chorioamnionitis (HCA). Method of study A prospective study was conducted in 121 women with PPROM between 24 and 34 + 0 weeks of gestation. Association between white blood cells (WBC) count, plasma CRP, IL-6, MCP-1 and IP-10 levels, and HCA was assessed. Results The rate of HCA was 44.7% (54/121). During the 5 days preceding delivery, median CRP, WBC, and IL-6 levels were significantly higher in the HCA than in no-HCA group (P < 0.001). To determine the potential clinical use of cervical interleukin-6 (IL-6) as a negative predictor of preterm birth in symptomatic women.Observational prospective study carried out in a tertiary hospital.We studied 100 singleton pregnant women with threatened preterm delivery and intact membranes, between 24 and 34 weeks, recruited during the period 2006-2008. A cervical swab for IL-6 detection was taken and a transvaginal ultrasound scan was performed for measuring the cervical length.Five women delivered within 2 d and six women within 7 d. The clinical evaluation of patients in hip osteoarthritis is often done using patient questionnaires. While this provides important information it is also necessary to continue developing objective measures. In this work we further investigate the studies concerning the use of 3D gait analysis to attain this goal. The gait analysis was associated with machine learning methods in order to provide a direct measure of patient control gait discrimination. The applied machine learning method was the support vector machine (SVM). Here we solve the converse problem by coordinatizing a given generalized affine plane which satisfies certain versions of Desargues' postulate.
On the algebraic representation of projectively embeddable affine geometries

The main result of this article is an application of [1] and [2] which yields that an at least 2-dimensional affine geometry is module-induced if and only if it is projectively embeddable into an Arguesian projective lattice geometry.
