Jorge Eduardo Eielson is a well-known poet and plastic artist, but his narrative works remain little-known, even in his native Peru. El cuerpo de Giulia-no is a discontinous and elusive text. Written in the 1950s but not published until 1971 in Mexico, it is an undoubtedly innovative work which thwarts the readers’s expectations with its fragmentary composition, elliptical tendencies, and the underlying dislogue amongst literature, visual arts and science running throughout the text. AbstractEight syntaxa are validated with the previous names regarded as invalidly published according to the International Code of Phytosociological Nomenclature. The validation concerns syntaxa of rock plant communities of the Campanuletalia incanescentis order reported from the Pamir Alai mountains in Tajikistan. The majority of validated syntaxa represents association level, one is an alliance. All validations are conducted due to the invalidity of tables with typus releves according to art. 1 of the Code: they were not distributed as printed matter. Volatile compounds produced by adults of Anchomenus dorsalis under undisturbed and disturbed conditions were investigated with an all-glass aeration apparatus. GC-MS analysis of the crude extracts from undisturbed and disturbed adults highlighted four major volatile compounds, undecane, heneicosane, Z-9 tricosene and tricosane, of which significantly more undecane was released by disturbed adults compared to undisturbed beetles. The pygidial glands of adults of A. dorsalis were investigated using light and Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM).
