The cellular processes underlying individual differences in the Working Memory Capacity (WMC) of humans are essentially unknown. In my paper, I attempt a critical review of Nicola Lacey’s book In Search of Criminal Responsibility, by arguing, firstly, that she gives the categories of “character responsibility” and “capacity responsibility” an over-inclusive account, which results from her filling each of them with views that are not only disparate but also based, at least in part, on conflicting principles; and, secondly, that Lacey’s spelling out of various conceptions of “criminal responsibility” necessarily entails an underlying unitary definition of its subject matter, that is, the concept of “criminal responsibility,” which seems to conflict with her (version of) penal contextualism.
The percolation phase transition and statistical multifragmentation in finite systems

The cumulant ratios up to fourth order of the $Z$ distributions of the largest fragment in spectator fragmentation following $^{107,124}$Sn+Sn and $^{124}$La+Sn collisions at 600 MeV/nucleon have been investigated. They are found to exhibit the signatures of a second-order phase transition established with cubic bond percolation and previously observed in the ALADIN experimental data for fragmentation of $^{197}$Au projectiles at similar energies. The deduced pseudocritical points are found to be only weakly dependent on the $A/Z$ ratio of the fragmenting spectator source. Biosorption of green and black tea polyphenols into Saccharomyces cerevisiae improves their bioaccessibility

Infusions of green tea (GT) and black tea (BT) and the use of Saccharomyces cerevisiae as a natural matrix were employed to check the impact of biosorption on the possible fate of tea polyphenols in the gastrointestinal tract in terms of bioaccessibility and total antioxidant capacity (TEAC and ORAC assays). The maximum biosorption yields obtained were 47.61 ± 11.57 and 99.68 ± 5.25 mg/g from GT and BT infusions, respectively. A significant increase (p < 0.05) in the recovery of phenolic compounds was shown after in vitro digestion. Fractionation of softwood and hardwood LignoBoost kraft lignins, using sequential extraction with organic solvents of increasing hydrogen-bonding ability (dichloromethane, n-propanol, and methanol), was carried out.
