Evaluation of the acute toxicity, analgesic and CNS activities of different species ofTeucrium genus

Methanol and dichloromethanol extracts of the leaves and stems of four Teucrium species (T. cartaginenses, T. flavum, T. pumillum and T. buxifolium) have been tested for their toxicity, analgesic and central depressor effects. The intraperitoneal administration of the different extracts showed a CNS depressant activity in mice, but they lacked anticonvulsive effects. When tested for analgesic activity none of the extracts increased the threshold of pain thermal stimulus. However, the methanol and dichloromethanol extracts of T. cartaginenses and T. buxifolium species showed a significant analgesic effect in models of pain induced by chemical or mechanical stimulation.
On the unification of electroweak interactions with gravity

It is shown that the electroweak interactions in the Salam-Weinberg model can be described by a space-time connection form which preserves the space-time metric multiplied by a conformal factor. In addition, one needs an extraSO(2)-connection form. The Dirac field in this formalism is described (after making a certain regularity assumption) by a vierbein field for the space-time metric and a complex scalar field.
Maxwell symmetries and some applications

The Maxwell algebra is the result of enlarging the Poincar\'{e} algebra by six additional tensorial Abelian generators that make the fourmomenta non-commutative. We present a local gauge theory based on the Maxwell algebra with vierbein, spin connection and six additional geometric Abelian gauge fields. We apply this geometric framework to the construction of Maxwell gravity, which is described by the Einstein action plus a generalized cosmological term. We mention a Friedman-Robertson-Walker cosmological approximation to the Maxwell gravity field equations, with two scalar fields obtained from the additional gauge fields. Analisi di alcuni passaggi del Poenulus plautino e riflessione sui pregiudizi contro i Punici raccolti ed elaborati dalla tradizione comica. Nel saggio si mette in luce la particolare prospettiva teatrale adottata da Plauto, che, pur recuperando gli stereotipi anti-cartaginesi, squaderna taluni preconcetti e apre, proprio durante il periodo delle guerre puniche, uno spazio di approfondimento interessante sulla percezione dell'altro: anche al nemico è riconosciuta generosità e grandezza d'animo.

The Jacobian conjecture for polynomial maps ϕ:Kn→Kn is shown to be equivalent to a certain Lie algebra theoretic property of the Lie algebra\(\mathbb{D}\) of formal vector fields inn variables. To be precise, let\(\mathbb{D}_0 \) be the unique subalgebra of codimensionn (consisting of the singular vector fields),H a Cartan subalgebra of\(\mathbb{D}_0 \),Hλ the root spaces corresponding to linear forms λ onH and\(A = \oplus _{\lambda \in {\rm H}^ * } H_\lambda \). Then every polynomial map ϕ:Kn→Kn with invertible Jacobian matrix is an automorphism if and only if every automorphism Φ of\(\mathbb{D}\) with Φ(A)\( \subseteq A\) satisfies Φ(A)=A.
