Propyl substituted 4-arylimino-1,2,3-trihydroacridylnickel complexes: Their synthesis, characterization and catalytic behavior toward ethylene

2015

Propyl substituted 4-arylimino-1,2,3-trihydroacridylnickel dihalide complexes were designed and prepared by metal-induced template reaction with NiCl2 center dot 6H(2)O or (DME)NiBr2. They were characterized by infrared spectroscopy and elemental analysis. Single crystal X-ray crystallography of representative complex Ni3 revealed a distorted trigonal bipyramidal geometry around nickel. The catalytic activities of the title nickel complexes were negatively affected by propyl substituent on their backbone when comparing with the results by unsubstituted ones. With the activation of diethylaluminium chloride, all nickel complexes exhibited moderate activity (up to 5.10 x 10(5) g mol(-1)(Ni) h…

Rational synthetic design of well-defined Pt(bisethynyl)/Zn(porphyrin) oligomers for potential applications in photonics

2011

Well-defined oligomers of 1, 2, 3 and 4 units built upon the very soluble bis-1,15-(1,4-ethynylbenzene)-3,7,13,17-tetramethyl-2,8,12,18-tetrakis(n-hexyl) zinc(II) porphyrin ligand and the trans-bis(tri-n-butylphosphine)platinum(II) linker, with acetylene or trimethylsilane as end groups, has been prepared in the presence of a dichloromethane/diethylamine mixture (1 : 1 v/v) and CuX (X = Cl, I) at room temperature, analogue to a Sonogashira coupling. The new monodisperse organometallic oligomers were characterized by 1H, 31P NMR, UV-visible spectroscopies and MALDI-TOF mass spectrometry. The methyl groups placed at the 3,7,13,17-positions induces the locking of the C6H4 fragment in a perpend…

A Homoleptic Alkynyl‐Ligated [Au 13 Ag 16 L 24 ] 3− Cluster as a Catalytically Active Eight‐Electron Superatom

2020

A new alkynylated cluster [Au13 Ag16 (C10 H6 NO)24 ]3- is prepared by a NaBH4 mediated reduction method. The AuAg clusters are confirmed by sophisticated characterization techniques. It has a unique "Aucenter @Ag12 @Au12 Ag4 " metal framework which is protected by 24 atypical alkyne ligands L (L=C10 H6 NO). The ligands construct a unique type of motif L-(Ag)-Au-(Ag)-L at the cluster interface, where the alkyne (C≡C) group of each L was linked by sharing an Au atom through the σ bonds and each C≡C group was discretely connected to a chemically different Ag atom (Agicosahedral /Agcap ) through π bonds. The electronic and optical properties of [Au13 Ag16 L24 ]3- were studied. DFT characterized…

New conditions for the generation of dianions of carboxylic acids

1998

Abstract Lithium carboxylic acid enediolates are generated efficiently using lithium amides prepared from thienyllithium or butyllithium and either diethylamine, piperazine, N,N′-dibenzylethylenediamine, N-benzylpiperazine or 1,3,3-trimethyl-6-azabicyclo[3.2.1]octane, even in catalytic amounts.

Spin-Crossover Modification through Selective CO2 Sorption

2013

[EN] We present a spin-crossover Fe-II coordination polymer with no permanent channels that selectively sorbs CO2 over N-2. The one-dimensional chains display internal voids of similar to 9 angstrom diameter, each being capable to accept one molecule of CO2 at 1 bar and 273 K. X-ray diffraction provides direct structural evidence of the location of the gas molecules and reveals the formation of O=C=O(delta(-))center dot center dot center dot pi interactions. This physisorption modifies the spin transition, producing a 9 K increase in T-1/2.

Energetics of conformational conversion between 1,1,2-trichloroethane polymorphs

2008

Pressure-induced transformations between gauche-, gauche+ and transoid conformations have been evidenced by X-ray single-crystal diffraction for 1,1,2-trichloroethane, and the energies of intermolecular interactions, conformational conversion, and the latent heat have been determined.

Growth of nanometric CuGaxOystructures on copper substrates

2005

This paper presents an alternative method based on the metal–organic chemical vapour deposition technique to obtain new nanowire structures. Here, the metal–organic precursor acts as a catalyst and interacts with a metallic substrate to produce 3D structures such as nanowires. In the present case, trimethyl gallium interacts with a copper metallic substrate to build a single-crystalline CuGaxOy wire structure. Electronic microscopy techniques on image or diffraction modes have provided the structural and chemical characterization of the obtained nanowires.

Keggin heteropolyacid H3PW12O40 supported on different oxides for catalytic and catalytic photo-assisted propene hydration

2013

Catalytic and catalytic photo-assisted hydration of propene to form 2-propanol in gas–solid regime at atmospheric pressure and 85 1C were carried out by using a heteropolyacid (POM) supported on different oxides. Binary materials were prepared by impregnation of H3PW12O40 on different commercial and home prepared supports (TiO2, SiO2, WO3, ZrO2, ZnO, Al2O3). Some of the composites were active both for catalytic and catalytic photo-assisted reactions. The Keggin type POM was completely and partially degraded, when supported on ZnO and Al2O3, respectively, and these binary solids always resulted as inactive for both catalytic and catalytic photo-assisted reactions. The supported Keggin POM sp…
