Untersuchungen �ber den Einflu� von Guanethidin (Ismelin�) auf die Katecholaminausscheidung im Harn von Hypertonikern

Bei 5 Patienten mit essentieller Hypertonie wurde der Einflus einer einmaligen Injektion von 12,1 mg Guanethidinbase auf Blutdruck und Katecholaminausscheidung im Harn verglichen. Nach der Injektion des Antihypertensivums kam es zu einem Abfall der Noradrenalinausscheidung bei unveranderter Adrenalinausscheidung. Der am liegenden und am stehenden Patienten gemessene systolische und diastolische Blutdruck fiel nach Injektion des Pharmakons deutlich ab. Die Kreatininausscheidung im Harn anderte sich nicht.

Chemical model systems possessing the reactivity aspects of both tyrosinase and catechol oxidase are presented. ABSTRACT: In this study the catecholase and cresolase activities of eggplant polyphenol oxidase (PPO) were investigated. Enzyme activity was determined by measuring the increase in absorbance using catechol as substrate and 3-methyl-2- benzothiazolinone hydrazone (MBTH) as coupled reagent. The effects of substrate specificity, heat inactivation, temperature, pH, and inhibitors were investigated to understand the enzymatic alteration of ready-to-eat preparations. Abstract A broad range of physiological and evolutionarily studies requires standard and robust methods to assess the strength and activity of an individual’s immune defense. In insects, this goal is generally reached by spectrophotometrically measuring (pro-) phenoloxidase activity, an enzymatic and non-specific process activated after wounding and parasite infections. Phytophagous insects face a wide range of microbial and eukaryotic parasites, each activating different immune pathways that could compromise the activity of the others. Feeding larvae are primarily exposed to microbes, which growth is controlled by antibiotic secondary metabolites produced by the host plant. Two commercial (Merck and Sigma-Aldrich) and two home prepared (HP05 and HP05C) powdered TiO2 photocatalysts were investigated by fast field cycling nuclear magnetic resonance experiments in order to explore the nature of the interactions between water and the solid surfaces. Phenoloxidase (PO) activity was examined in the tunic tissue of Ciona intestinalis following lipopolysaccharide (LPS) intratunic injection. Tunic homogenate supernatant (THS), assayed with the Dopa-MBTH reaction, displayed Ca(2+)-independent PO activity that was raised by LPS and further enhanced by proteases. Specific inhibitors (tropolone, phenylthiourea, diethylthiocarbamate) supported the specificity of the reaction. Assay with soybean trypsin inhibitor showed that, in the tunic, PO activation with trypsin was not significantly inhibited suggesting that proteases diverse from serine proteases were involved. Organic cation transporters (OCT) are responsible for the intracellular uptake and detoxification of a broad spectrum of endogenous and exogenous substrates. OCTs are downregulated in cholestasis, fibrosis, and hepatocellular carcinoma, but the underlying molecular mechanisms and downstream effects of OCT deletion are unknown.
