Human cells are the eukaryotic ones. Simulation of wide-spectrum electromagnetic radiation influence on eukaryotic cells was performed with yeast which is usually used now in molecular biological and medical biological investigations as the ideal model of eukaryotic system. The aim of the research was to observe possible induced alterations of the cell morphology. Atomic force microscopy (AFM) and electron scanning microscopy (ESM) have been applied to image the surface of cells exposed to electromagnetic radiation.

The aim of the present study was to evaluate the in vitro cytotoxicity of MTA Repair HP, NeoMTA Plus, and Biodentine, new bioactive materials used for dental pulp capping, on human dental pulp stem cells (hDPSCs).Biological testing was carried out in vitro on hDPSCs. Cell viability and cell migration assays were performed using eluates of each capping material. To evaluate cell morphology and cell attachment to the different materials, hDPSCs were directly seeded onto the material surfaces and analyzed by scanning electron microscopy. The aim of this study was to investigate the biological compatibility of five root canal sealers (Sealapex, Endion, Super-EBA, Ketac-Endo, and AH Plus) and regular and calcium hydroxide-based gutta-percha in three different human cell lines. Cultures without root canal sealers were used as controls. Cell growth, cell morphology, cell viability, protein content of the cells, and prostaglandin E 2 (PGE 2 ) release were used as parameters to determine the cytotoxicity of the materials. Influence of cadmium on the morphology and functionality of haemocytes in the compound ascidian Botryllus schlosseri

In order to get insights into the effects of cadmium (Cd) on cell morphology and functions, we exposed haemocytes of the colonial ascidian Botryllus schlosseri to sub-lethal concentrations of CdCl(2). Results indicate that Cd hampers haemocyte spreading and phagocytosis in a dose-dependent way, through the alteration of the actin cytoskeleton. In addition, the metal decreases the stability of the internal membranes, as revealed by the Neutral Red assay. The fraction of cells showing positivity for the lysosomal enzyme acid phosphatase is also reduced in the presence of Cd, whereas the number of cells responsive to the Annexin-V assay and showing chromatin condensation increases, suggesting …

Although the function and significance of tumor-infiltrating dendritic cells (TIDC) in the immune response to tumor have never been clearly demonstrated, their location suggests that they play a critical role in the presentation of tumor antigen to specific T cells. We studied the morphological and functional characteristics of interstitial dendritic cells (DC) located inside tumors obtained by injection of cancer cells into syngeneic rats. Single and double immunostaining of tumor sections revealed a dense network of cells which expressed class II major histocompatibility complex (MHC II) molecules.
