Initial light-induced degradation study of multicrystalline modules made from silicon material processed through different manufacturing routes

The paper presents results of initial lightinduced degradation (LID) of multicrystalline silicon photovoltaic (PV) modules made of crystalline silicon from different manufacturing processes. The modules were installed within the Sunbelt, in Hyderabad, India. Current-voltage (I–V) characteristics are measured and infra-red (IR) images of the modules are taken at regular intervals. A relationship of the IV degradation with the IR images is discussed. Results from laboratory LID tests at room temperature are performed parallel to the outdoor degradation of PV modules. Comparison of complex fractionated atrial electrograms at cellular scale using numerical and experimental models.

This study investigates the existence of the pseudo complex fractionated atrial electrogram (CFAE) at cellular level. Our assumptions are based on the fact that CFAEs are linked to the generation of the spiral waves. These are created using a numerical model and an experimental model of in vitro culture of neonatal rats cardiac cells. Pseudo bipolar electrograms resulting from these two models are compared qualitatively and some patterns could be identified as CFAE signature.

As the precise role of the pineal gland has been established in a few mammalian species only, every effort should be made to elucidate the function of this potentially important neuroendocrine organ in as many species as possible. One way in which the morphologist can contribute to reach this goal is to carry out comparative studies. Comparative anatomical studies with respect to the pineal gland can be, and should be, carried out at different structural levels: (a) At the gross anatomical level; (b) at the tissue level; (c) at the cellular level, and (d) at the level of cell organelles.

Performance of LoRa technology: link-level and cell-level performance

Abstract LoRa is a chirp spread spectrum technology that is becoming very popular for low-power wide-area networks, with high-density devices. In this chapter, we study the capacity of LoRa in rejecting different interfering signals. First, we analyze LoRa modulation numerically demonstrating that channel captures appear easily and that collisions between packets modulated with different spreading factors (SFs) are not uncommon. We validate such findings in experiments based on commercial devices and software-defined radios. Evidence of autoinduction heterogeneity via expression of the agr system of listeria monocytogenes at the single-cell level

ABSTRACT To investigate if the primary function of the Agr system of Listeria monocytogenes is to monitor cell density, we followed Agr expression in batch cultures, in which the autoinducer concentration was uniform, and in biofilms. Expression was heterogeneous, suggesting that the primary function of Agr is not to monitor population density.
