Insight into the mechanism of diazocompounds transformation catalyzed by hetero cuboidal clusters [Mo3CuQ4(MeBPE)3X4]+, (Q=S, Se; X=Cl, Br): The cata…

2008

Abstract Two enantiomerically pure trinuclear compounds of formula (P)-[Mo3S4{(R,R)-Me–BPE}3Br3]Br and (P)-[Mo3Se4{(R,R)-Me–BPE}3Cl3]Cl, (P)-1b.Br and (P)-1c.Cl, respectively, have been synthesized in a good yield and a stereospecific manner by excision of polymeric [Mo3Q7X4]n (Q = S or Se, X = Cl or Br) phases with (R,R)-Me–BPE{1,2-bis[(2R,5R)-2,5-(dimethylphospholan-1-yl)]ethane}. They have been transformed into chiral hetereo cuboidal compounds [Mo3S4{(R,R)-Me–BPE}3Br3]PF6, (P)-2b.PF6, and [Mo3Se4{(R,R)-Me–BPE}3Cl3]PF6, (P)-2c.PF6, by reaction with copper salts. All these compounds have been characterized by 31P NMR, IR, UV–Vis, mass spectrometry, elemental analysis, and chiral dichroism…

An Efficient Synthesis of γ-Aminoacids and Attempts to Drive Its Enantioselectivity

2008

Addition of carboxylic acid dianions to bromoacetonitrile lead, in good yields,to the corresponding gamma-cyanoacids, which on hydrogenation yielded gamma-amino acids. This two step methodology improves upon previously described results. Poor e.e's resultedfrom our attempts to drive the enantioselectivity of this transformation by chiral amide induction.

Synthesis, Characterization, Thermal and Antimicrobial studies of N-substituted Sulfanilamide derivatives

2014

Abstract Four sulfanilamide derivatives N -[4-(phenylsulfamoyl)phenyl]acetamide (1), 4-amino- N -phenylbenzenesulfonamide (2), N -[4-(phenylsulfamoyl)phenyl]benzamide (3) and N -{4-[(3-chlorophenyl)sulfamoyl]phenylbenzamide (4) were synthesized and characterized by Infra-Red (IR), Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) and UV–visible (UV–Vis) spectra. Also Liquid Chromatographic (LCMS) and High Resolution Mass Spectrometric (HRMS) methods were used. Crystal structures of 1–4 were determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction (XRD) and their conformational and hydrogen bond (HB) network properties were examined with survey of the literature data. Compounds 1 and 2 crystallize in the same orthorho…

The Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA): What Kind of Space is Given to Fair Trade and Labour Rights?

2017

Induction of carbonic anhydrase in SaOS-2 cells, exposed to bicarbonate and consequences for calcium phosphate crystal formation.

2013

Ca-phosphate/hydroxyapatite crystals constitute the mineralic matrix of vertebrate bones, while Ca-carbonate dominates the inorganic matrix of otoliths. In addition, Ca-carbonate has been identified in lower percentage in apatite crystals. By using the human osteogenic SaOS-2 cells it could be shown that after exposure of the cells to Ca-bicarbonate in vitro, at concentrations between 1 and 10 mm, a significant increase of Ca-deposit formation results. The crystallite nodules formed on the surfaces of SaOS-2 cells become denser and larger in the presence of bicarbonate if simultaneously added together with the mineralization activation cocktail (β-glycerophosphate/ascorbic acid/dexamethason…

Abstract B09: Nintedanib inhibits tumor and vessel growth and leads to vascular normalization in A549-NSCLC-xenografts

2015

Abstract Angiogenesis plays a major role in the growth and progression of non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC). The triple angiokinase inhibitor nintedanib is a potent inhibitor of the receptor tyrosine kinases FGFR-1, 2, 3, PDGFR-α and β, VEGFR-1, 2, 3. and Flt-3. as well as of non-receptor tyrosine kinases like Src, Lyn and Lck by occupying the intracellular ATP-binding pocket. In the pivotal LUME-Lung 1 trial Nintedanib plus docetaxel has proven an overall survival benefit over docetaxel monotherapy in second-line treatment of non-small-cell lung cancer of adenocarcinoma. The aim of this study was to analyse treatment induced vascular normalization of nintedanib, bevacizumab and docetaxel …

The potential of acetaminophen as a prodrug in gene-directed enzyme prodrug therapy.

2000

Acetaminophen is oxidized by human CYP1A2 to the cytotoxic metabolite N-acetylbenzoquinoneimine (NABQI). Incubation of cells transfected with human CYP1A2 (H1A2 MZ cells) with 4-20 mM acetaminophen for 6 hours at 37 degrees C caused extensive cytotoxicity (cell viability10%). In contrast, nontransfected V79 MZ cells were unaffected (viability95%). By mixing H1A2 MZ cells with V79 MZ cells in various proportions and incubating with 4 mM acetaminophen, it was shown that the NABQI released from H1A2 MZ cells also caused cytotoxicity of bystander cells. Thus, in a mixture containing 5% H1A2 MZ cells, exposure to 4 mM acetaminophen for 6 hours resulted in complete cell killing by 24 hours. A sim…

Abstract 1423: Shikonin impairs the growth of docetaxel-resistant prostate cancer cells by necroptosis

2021

Abstract Introduction: Prostate carcinoma (PCa) is the most common malignancy in men. Androgen-targeted therapy and chemotherapy are currently the treatment of choice for advanced stages. Due to resistance towards these therapies, prognosis remains poor and new treatment options are urgently required. Shikonin (SHI) from Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) might be promising, since it induces anti-tumor effects in different tumor entities. However, data on PCa are few, and data on resistant PCa are not existent. Material and Methods: Parental (=sensitive) and docetaxel-resistant PCa cell lines, PC3, DU145, LNCaP, and 22Rv1 were exposed to SHI [0.1 - 1.5 μM] for 24, 48, or 72 hours. Untreated…

Heterogeneous response to differentiation induction with different polar compounds in a clonal rat rhabdomyosarcoma cell line (BA-HAN-1C)

1989

The clonal rat rhabdomyosarcoma cell line BA-HAN-1C was tested for its susceptibility to differentiation induction with different polar compounds. This cell line is composed of proliferating mononuclear tumour cells, some of which spontaneously fuse to form terminally differentiated postmitotic myotube-like giant cells. Exposure of BA-HAN-1C cells to dimethylsulphoxide (DMSO), hexamethylene bisacetamide (HMBA), sodium butyrate (NaBut) and N-monomethylformamide (NMF) resulted in a significant inhibition of proliferation (P less than 0.001) and in a simultaneous increase in differentiation. The response was most pronounced after exposure to NMF as evidenced by a marked increase in the creatin…
