Synthesis and characterization of cyclometallated palladium(II) complexes with 2-(diphenylphosphino)benzaldehyde

2013

New palladium(II) complexes containing 2-(diphenylphosphino)benzaldehyde a (Ph2P(o-C6H4CHO), displaying different coordination modes, have been synthesized in moderate to good yields (62–91%). The cyclometallated palladium(II) complexes [Pd(C^N)(Ph2 P(o-C6H4CHO)(Cl)] (1–4) in which a is P-monodentate have been prepared by reacting it with selected cyclometallated precursors containing bridging chlorides [Pd(C^N)(μ-Cl)]2 [C^N=2-phenylpyridine (Phpy), 7,8-benzoquinoline (Bzq), azobenzene (Phazo), and 2-phenyloxazoline (Phox), respectively]. A rigid P,O-chelating behavior of a, confirmed by the crystal structure determination of [Pd(Phox)(Ph2 P (o-C6H4CHO)][CF3SO3] (8), is observed in complexe…

A sterically congested 1,2-diphosphino-1'-boryl-ferrocene: synthesis, characterization and coordination to platinum.

2019

International audience; A new class of tritopic ferrocene-based ambiphilic compound has been prepared by assembling diphosphino- and boryl-substituted cyclopentadienides at iron. The presence of five sterically demanding substituents on the ferrocene platform induces conformation constraints, as apparent from XRD and NMR data, but does not prevent chelating coordination to platinum. The Lewis acid moiety is pendant in both the free ligand and the platinum complex.

Stability of Dinuclear Phosphane Palladium(III) Complexes: A DFT Approach

2018

Computational density functional theory studies have been carried out for the dinuclear ortho-metalated palladium(III) compounds [Pd2{μ-(C6H4)PPh2}2{μ-(X1-X2)}2Cl2]. These studies have shown that the electronic and steric properties of the auxiliary ligands (X1-X2 = bridging (carboxylato) or chelating (phenolato/acetylacetonato) O,O-donor ligands, bridging N,N-donor ligands (triazenido/formamidinato/pyrazolato), and bridging N,S-donor ligands) lead to systematic trends in their stability, highlighting that (a) the electronic nature of the donor atoms trans to the P has a clear trend, the replacement of hard donor atoms (O, N) by softer S donors generally reducing the stability of the compou…

Catecholato complexes of o-phenylenebis(salicylideneiminato)iron(III) and meso-tetra(parasulphonatephenyl)porphyrinatoferrate(III). A comment on the …

1986

Abstract Formation of catecholato complexes of Fe(saloph) + and Fe(TPPS) 3− in solution is studied. Fe(saloph)(cat) − contains a cat 2− bidentate ligand. Its formation in solution competes efficiently with the hydrolysis and dimerization of Fe(saloph) + to give Fe 2 (saloph) 2 O. This behaviour shows that the planar saloph 2− ligand, as the analogous salen 2− , is easily distorted, and is not as rigid as generally considered. Iron(III) porphyrin Fe(TPPS) 3− with catechol gives the complex [Fe(TPPS)(Hcat)] 4− . Deprotonation of the unidentate Hcat − ligand cannot be studied because the smaller stability of the complex, and the dimerization of the metalloporphyrin dominates in basic medium. T…

Synthesis, characterization and kinetics of the metallation of the intermediate compound to produce compound · (H2O) from Rh(II) tetraacetate

1998

Abstract Photochemical irradiation of mixtures of [Rh2(μ-O2CCH3)4]·(HOCH3)2 and P(2-(CH3O)C6H4)Ph2 (POMe) in CH2Cl2 solution (1:1 molar ratio) yields quantitatively compound [ Rh 2 (μ- O 2 CCH 3 ) 3 ( O 2 CCH 3 )(η 2 - P (2-( CH 3 O ) C 6 H 4 ) Ph 2 ]·( H 2 O ) (1) containing a POMe acting as a chelating equatorial ( P ) axial ( O ) donor ligand. This compound undergoes intramolecular CH activation reaction at one of the phenyl rings in CHCl3 or CH3COOH/toluene solution at room temperature to form the monometallated compound [ Rh 2 (μ- O 2 CCH 3 ) 3 (μ-( C C 3 H 4 ) P (2-( CH 3 O C 6 H 4 ) Ph )]· ( H 2 O ) ( 2 ). The kinetics of the 1 → bd2 reaction have been studied in acid media (CH3CO…

(Z)- und (E)-Enole von diarylsubstituierten β-Ketocarbonsäurederivativen

2006

(Z) and (E) Enols of Diaryl-Substituted β-Ketocarboxylic Acid Derivatives Thermolysis of the 1,3-diaryl-2-diazo-1,3-propanediones 4 in the presence of alcohols or amines yielded the compounds 7–11 which exist as chelated (Z) enols or as tautomeric ketones. Contrary to the steric interaction of two mesityl groups the steric interaction between two naphthyl or two anthryl groups or between naphthyl and mesityl is not sufficient to stabilize the corresponding (E) enols. The latter isomers were generated in irradiation processes of some (Z) enols. Detailed NMR studies were performed in order to characterize the enols and their molecular dynamics.

Impact of the use of sterically congested Ir(III) complexes on the performance of light-emitting electrochemical cells

2018

International audience; The synthesis, structural and optoelectronic characterization of a family of sterically congested cyclometalated cationic Ir(iii) complexes of the form [Ir(C^N)2(dtBubpy)]PF6 (with dtBubpy = 4,4′-di-tert-butyl-2,2′-bipyridine and C^N = a cyclometalating ligand decorated at the 4-position of the pyridine ring and/or the 3-position of the phenyl ring with a range of sterically bulky substituents) are reported. This family of complexes is compared to the unsubstituted analogue complex R1 bearing 2-phenylpyridinato as cyclometalating ligand. The impact of sterically bulky substituents on the C^N ligands on both the solid state photophysics and light-emitting electrochemi…

Chlorodicyclohexylborane-mediated aldol additions of alpha,alpha'-dioxygenated ketones.

2001

Boron aldol additions of variously O-protected alpha,alpha'-dioxygenated ketones using dicyclohexylboron chloride and a tertiary amine have been investigated. The stereoselectivity of the process was dependent on the protecting group on the alpha-oxygen atoms. Notably, ketones with bulky silyloxy groups gave syn aldols, most likely via Z enolates. This rules out the participation of chelates during the enolization process, at least in the presence of such sterically crowded protecting groups. An alternative explanation is offered.

Synthesis of a macrobicycle incorporating the tris(pyrazolyl)methane ligand.

2004

Steric crowding of the 3-position of tris(pyrazolyl)borate and -methane ligands has produced tetrahedral metal complexes with controlled reactivity. As an alternative, we propose to incorporate the tris(pyrazolyl)methane chelate in a macrobicyclic structure in order to create a cavity with well-defined dimensions and shape. Acid-catalyzed equilibration of excess of the new pyrazole 3-(1H-pyrazol-3-yl)benzenemethanethiol acetate with HC(3,5-Me(2)pz)(3) followed by hydrolysis affords a functionalized tris(pyrazolyl)methane, which reacts with 1,3,5-tris(bromomethyl)benzene in K(2)CO(3)/DMF to give the title compound. Increased acidophilia of eosinophil granules after EDTA treatment

1986

The acidophilic reaction of eosinophil leucocyte granules from human, pig and horse blood smears was investigated by using May-Grünwald-Giemsa staining after previous treatment with EDTA and sodium citrate solutions. The same peak at 530 nm, but absorption values considerably higher than those of controls, were found in eosinophil granules after application of chelating agents, indicating that removal of metal cations could unmask basic groups in these structures.
